While all the turmoil swirls around our football team- I will say that so far this year this offense has been exciting to watch. CP has been electric, ZRO has been the most improved playa on offense and it has been great to see from that young man. At this point someone at the next level is going to steal a damn good wideout in ZRO. The O line continues to get better and back to what we expect to see at Tenn. Dammit if we only had a mediocre defense!!!!! Also I keep wondering just how much input Hart had for hiring Sunseri????? Rumors are that Wilcox wanted a 2 year contract and would have stayed. We had a pretty fair Defense under him. So who really is to blame??? And then with all the bullshit going on how bad will that end up affecting recruiting???? Me thinks pretty bad. |

If we trust what Dave Hart said when he was hired, he said "I am not a micro-manager." I believe that to be true, and as such I believe that the Sunseri hire was all on Derek Dooley. Hart obviously had to agree to that hire, and Hart believed in Sunseri to get the job done, but the selection was on Dooley. My understanding with Wilcox was that he was gone, and a 2-year extension would not have mattered. As for recruiting, in the end we will be OK with the guys that are already committed assuming that Dooley remains as coach ... but, we are still really hurting in the LB area and with DBs and with RBs ... the success of this class (like last years) really rests on those positions. |

Pretty fair defense? Wilcox lost 7 games last year, UW is giving up the most points in school history. Wilcox and Sunseri are both bad DCs. I trust Dave Hart to do the right thing for UT. I think he has not made a decision yet, while several big boosters want to go court Jon Gruden but I hope they keep in mind that Gruden has left us at the alter before. |

Wilcox's defense was No. 29 in the nation in total defense last season. |

I don't know how much input if any Hart had in bringing Sunseri onboard. Skeeter, who supposedly works in the UTAD, says that Hart was a big proponent of bringing Sunseri to UT and has some skin in the game here. No charges, he was just brought in as a person of interest. In Wilcox two years in Knoxville he lost 7 games each year. Coaches are judged by wins and losses not some meaningless formula that ranks teams on something other than wins and losses. |

Then Dooley must be a phenomenal coach ... he was 48-16 with a national championship and two SEC championships at LSU. |

When did Gruden leave UT at the alter? Never knew he agreed to come and then changed his mind and went back on his word.......which would be "leaving us at the alter" |

Did not know that Wilcox was head Corch last year, i better go back and FACT check that, as far as Herr GRRRRRUUUUUDDDEN goes he was offered the job the year DD took it and turned us down. He told Monte that if his son wanted a coaching job he need to get in touch with UT, which he did... |

At UT the only way you can win is to have one of the best coaching staffs in the nation. That was the reason for Fulmers fall and that's the reason Dooley isn't succeeding at UT. It really don't matter who the head coach is as long as you got a staff full of great assistants. Look at Fulmer. He was a great coach when he inherited Johnny Majors work and had a staff in place for him, but as these guys moved on the program started falling. I thought Kiffin made a lot of progreess in one year until he left, the way he was doing that was having a great staff. Just as AV hit about everything else dead on following the Dooley hire, he really hit it on our conference USA staff. I think the best thing Dooley did besides rebuilding roster was hiring the S&C coach. That has a lot to do with our individual player improvement we've seen. The new coach would be crazy to get rid of him. |

Ah, how soon we forget. Tennessee had to play several games last year without Justin Hunter and Tyler Bray. The Vols had mighty Matt Simms and a raw, true freshman at quarterback. Is that Wilcox's fault? Total defense is not a meaningless number, LSU and Alabama were at the top of the NCAA heap last season. Where'd they end up. Georgia was in the top six, did they play in SEC title game? |

Ha, ha, parroting AV's BS has no credibility here. Conference USA staff you say, what a friggin crock! Dooley, Sal, Palmero, Coiner and Chaney have all corched in the National Football League. Dooley, Sal, Ainsley and Palmero all have national championship rings. Jay Graham is one of the hottest young coaches in the country, Hinshaw is a rising star and probably the staff's best recruiter and Conklin will be a DC at a big time school in the not too distant future. Run along now back over to OMV where you can be soooooo much more negative!
