Based on his demeanor in the post game presser, I think he already knows.

Whoever made the decision to hire Sunseri needs to go.

As for Dooley: I like the guy and still say we'd be better off if he works out. However, after watching this team play and lose the games we've lost THIS SEASON (the only season where we've had the talent to compete and win a few)...the way we've lost them...I'm pretty convinced it's not going to happen for him. That's the main reason I'm ready to go another way now.

That and I'm pretty convinced it's what's going to happen regardless of my feelings on the matter.
I seriously doubt Hart's going to call me in for advice.....

So IF Dooley is going, we had better hire a home run. I'm not even sure that Gruden is a home run. His track record as a College Head Coach is.....well....non existent.

My honest opinion remains that I think Dooley should be allowed to finish the season unfired. I've been very consistent in that regard. It doesn't mean that I'm happy about how things are going or that I think he's done a fantastic job. I just don't particularly want another coaching change at this point, I don't want the recruiting for this year to be damaged, and frankly, given the odd road we've traveled, I could live with 7 - 5 with a bowl win as a sign of progress...IF Sunseri is sent back to Bammer with a banjo on his knee.
That almost exactly mirrors my opinion.

My paramount issues are (a) I don't want another head coaching change right now, and (b) I feel that there has been adequate improvement this year. I will feel differently next year if there isn't a dramatic improvement in the W-L columns.

H'mmm the dramatic improvement was scheduled for the 2012 seasons IIRC.

I suspect there will be several dramatic program improvements within the SEC in 2013.

Auburn - with Petrino at the controls

Texas A&M - while the offense is shaky it'll be much improved in 2013 - *if* the Aggies get their targeted WR and it appears to be neck and neck with LSU for RSJ - paired up with Evans and a buncha 5 star RB's they'll be potent.

Florida - Muschamp's 3rd season - no excuses allowed.

Dooley - and replacing a DC 3 years in a row.. *If* Petrino makes the move to AU - does he keep BVG? If not he'd be someone to consider for the DC job in Knoxville..

Mike Slive has already decreed from on high that Purtridino is toxic and teams best not consider hiring him back into the SEC. AllBarn is going to have a tough time firing a corch who won a NC in 2010. Of course, Tennessee went 10 years of having trouble firing one who won the title in 1998.

Surely you understand that saying that something 100,000 better is not intended to be interpreted literally. You do understand that.....right? I don't remember Zip saying anything in that same manner, but perhaps I missed it.

Given that this is my opinion, it meshes better with Tux's than yours. AS a result, I'm more likely to call bs on your posts, particularly when you try to convince us that the talent level isn't any better. Honestly, it appeared that you tried to fling that turd against the wall and when it didn't stick, then you started in on anything other thing you could get your hands on.....but you'd never let go of the talent thing.

I would like it if everybody would be a little more tolerant of the other's opinions...if that makes you feel any better......
Well if I ask the question about how if our talent is so improved then how come we suck so much on the field is up for ridicule, then how come Tux's 100,000% better comment and Zippy's comments that our talent is "way better so a blind squirell could see it" are to be interpreted differently than mine? So they can exaggerate out the wazoo and not be taken to task.

But for zippy, I think his Blind Squirrel is going to have a damn hard time noodling out how "much better talent" just tied a very bad SEC record of going 0-5 in the SEC for 3 straight years. Now we are in the same company as Vandy and Kensucky and this will go on for as long as FB is played in the SEC.

In the college game there is an old saying;

"Live by recruiting, die by recruiting"

#1 repeated comment - Dooley is a recruiting machine - and this squad has X number of future NFLers on it. So Dooley has done exceedingly well - recruiting - not only SEC caliber players - but NFL talent. It's obvious - a couple of the OL, DL, WR, QB.

Of some interest *why* would a living legend, Peyton Manning, show any interest in bringing someone other than Dooley to Knoxville?

This is half a straw man.....

NOBODY has ridiculed the fact that we have have sucked on the field. EVERYBODY has ridiculed that it's because the talent isn't any better. Why is this so hard to grasp?

OK lets sum this up. I will admit and say "the talent is better than it was at the start of 2010 season".

But I will also say the talent still isn't great as we are tied with Kensucky for LAST PLACE in a 14 team SEC. In 2011 we finished either 10th or 11th in a 12 team SEC.

The Recruiting under Dooley has gotten us up to the 85 limit again and there is more depth. But the rankings in 2011, 2012, and now in 2013 all have us 6th to 9th in the SEC. As we have seen, that just won't cut it.

So if you have Average or even slightly above average Talent and STILL end up near the bottom of the SEC in both 2011 and 2012 seasons then...... You fill in the blank.

Some food for thought.......

Nick Saban was 25-22-1 after four — YES - FOUR!!! — seasons at Michigan State. I bet those that called for him to be fired are kicking themselves right now.

......and the Big Ten was nowhere near as close as strong then as the SEC is.

It wasn't a joke. I can bang her and she can make me soup and tell me stories about FDR.

So you are for giving Precious more years to be HC and to recruit for UT?

Is 0-5 to start out 3 SEC seasons in a row not enough to convince you? Geez Louise, this Precious guy isn't Saban!!!

Yes, I would give Dooley another year to coach his first recruiting class, who would be seniors. Dooley has not even had a chance to coach a senior class that made a difference much less his own group of seniors-to-be, who would number 22 in the current 2 deep next season.

There are obviously a lot of things that I understand about the game and building a program that you obviously do not understand. Winning from scratch does not mean that you can do so just because you expect it to happen.

Well maybe you are so myopic with your vast knowledge, that you forget that Michigan gave a MUCH higher profile HC (Rodriguez) that Drooley, only 3 years. He didn't get to coach his recruits to their SR year because he sucked at MI. Drooley has sucked donkey turds at UT and he almost certainly will be fired in the next month. I disagree with you and our AD must not "understand" the game or "understand" how to build a program. Only DooleyBerry can understand such.

Patience GrassHopper Tux- the END is near.
