Jon Gruden is a done deal.

Please don't shoot the messenger.

We have seen the threads on VN from SpringBokVol and OCIvol.

As I stated in the thread on their recruiting forum, I will believe it when I hear Dave Hart say that Dooley has not been retained and Gruden has been hired.

They may be on the money, but again they have all been really wrong before. Until the time comes, I will have to assume that he is on the same plane with Lovie Smith that PM is piloting.

I am not convinced that OCIVol is connected.

After reading through the threads over there, I tend to agree with you. He is all over the place with his statements and analysis.

Also, since LWSVOL has been so instrumental in throwing gasoline on this fire, I would like to point out that he said today ...

(a) he does not think Hart would hire anyone before Dooley is dismissed
(b) he thinks it is highly unlikely that Gruden will be the head coach at UT

Where is all of the supposed talk from LWS about UT hiring Gruden? Up until today he was reportedly saying that it was going to happen? Now he is saying that it is unlikely to happen? This sounds more like OCIvol type posting.

I haven't seen LWSVOL write that he thought Gruden was going to be hired ... but, then again, I haven't been reading much over the last few days.

Why would Gruden want the job? He is already making $3 million just to talk. Why would he want to start pleading with idiotic 17 and 18 year olds to come play in Knoxville? I don't think Hart would do it this way anyhow. He would give Dooley notice before anything could get out. I'm just not buying it.

Larry stated he felt Gruden was the number one target. I copied and pasted it here earlier. I'll believe it when it's announced. We've all been down this road before.

There's lots of people who we could claim to be the #1 target, but being a target and actually coming are two different things.

Didn't he say Gruden is Hart's number 1 guy. That if we do make a move we'll make an offer to Gruden that he cant say no?

Gruden is the #1 guy of powerful people, not Hart. Hart is playing along because he has to, but down deep he's still hoping to get Smart.

The impression that Gruden can't say "no" comes from one of those powerful people involved, so it isn't a fact he won't say no.

There's a rumor on Volnation, I'm sure you saw it, that stated 6 years/$31.5 million. That's some serious money. I really doubt those numbers and the rumors. Have you notice the number of threads concerning Gruden on the Volnation forum? They're on their 3rd Official John Gruden thread with over 11,000 posts in each thread.

It was actually 6 years / $41.5 million *

*See, anyone can post a rumor and you know me about as well as you know anyone else that trolls with unsubstantiated rumors.
