There are multiple ways to get a guy the ball. Where was the adjustment to SS Sunseri coming on a blitz when the Vols had Patterson at TB at halftime? Line Patterson up at TB and put him in motion. He can't beat Sunseri in man to man? If your running left, bring the WR on the left in motion(someone other than Hunter b/c they have him double covered) and block Sunseri. As an OC, once I know how you are going to defend a certain play and out of a certain formation, then you should be dead meat--at least after halftime. Finally, when the HC/OC SAYS you are going to get Patterson the ball multiple times and you get it to him 3 times, then you have truly screwed the pooch. Our best offensive play against Bammer was a Patterson KO return. You don't just give up getting the ball to your best player. Right now our best players are Patterson and the OL. Use them. Sat was the best our OL played against a Bammer DL in a long time. |
