Let's see how you can do picking the winners and also against the spread!

Tennessee (-32 1/2) vs. Akron
Miss. St. (-34 1/2) vs. South Alabama
LSU (-20 1/2) vs. AllBarn
Jawja (-14) vs. Candy
South Carolina (-10) vs. Missouri

Which game or 2 games do you think are the best bests. I'd personally go with Jawja and Carolina, but also like South Alabama plus all those points against Cowbell Nation.

And when is the last time you saw Duke as a 24 point favorite in a football game? They are playing Tiger High today! Think Cutty Sark will remind his team about a certain visit to Mempho with Peyton?

My two favorites are the Vols and LSU.

We are a damn good football team. I know that Dooley is going to treat this game as a situational scrimmage and will not just call plays that he thinks will result in 6 points. Still, I feel that we get a defensive TD or two today.

Auburn flat out sucks and LASU will stomp their throats.

The only thing that bothers me about the Allbarn game is that Cheatzik is really feeling heat now and it is at AllBarn. I don't think that AllBarn will score all that many points, but perhaps their defense might play a decent game. But that LSU offensive line is right there with Bama and Florida as the best in the conference this year.

South Carolina 28 Missouri 14-- Carolina covers
Tennessee 50 Akron 20-- Vols don't cover

Well I used a very scientific formula on that one. In 1989 we had twice as good of a team as now and won 52-9. So I'm doubling Akrons score from that game and dividing our score in half.

I didn't pick the Auburn game but anytime I've seen a team go to Jordan Hare as a big favorite they do good to come out alive. I think LSU wins but it could be closer. LSU actually just drove down and fumbled right before they scored so we'll see how it goes.

A couple of things here: first, the myth of Chrome Dome Franklin has been demonlished. In 2010, Candy went down to Athens and got waxed 43-0. Last year the Dome surprised some teams and played them close simply because they overlooked the Commode Doors. Not this year, Jawja was ready and waiting.
Secondly, Mizzou looks like a second tier Big Tenish team, dreadful overall team speed. Yesterday, James Franklin II also was exposed as just another QB who got abused by an SEC big boy.
How's 6-0 vs. the spread yesterday? Cock a doodle doo! And unlike others, I wasn't shocked by the UT game at all. Missed Vols total points by three and Akron's by six, no cover, as predicted of course. Under dog teams often play with an adrenilin rush for a quarter or two and certainly that offense is a booger to try and defend.
Finally the Barners. They are going into a stretch now of three very winnable games. They face the downtrodden Hogs, Ole Miss and Candy. What will do them in are the Georgia and Alabama games later this year. They also have Texas A&M at home along with New Mexico State and Alabama A&M.
The Arkansas vs. Barners game should be titled the Fall From Grace Bowl. Cheatzik is a not so impressive 9-8 since sCam and Ears Tubberville's recruits won the national title. The Hogs finished ranked fifth in the country last year. These are two of the more spectacular crashes you will ever see in college football.
TnPhil, be sure and call that prick Jim Steele's whittle radio show next week and make inquires concerning Chrome Dome Franklin! :roflmao:

The UT media was hanging on Franklin's fly the past year and now where are they? The fans started believing he was the real deal because they read and believed what the media was telling them.

Somebody needs to ask the media idiots about that now and do not let them wiggle off the hook and try to steer their attention away to anone else.
