If the chips fall UT's way, Tennessee could get some immediate help from the juco ranks. Latest player rankings from JC Gridwire: http://jcfootball.scout.com/ |

I do not have a subscription. What does it say? I am guessing we get stud DT, Toby Johnson and a JUCO WR. |

Are we relying too much on Jr. College players, turning off high school players? |

My quick answer would be no, they are doing what they think will help sooner rather than later. We have proof that at two positions at least, defensive line and wide receiver, jucos can help quicker than high school players. Tennessee needs to win to be able to recruit with the big dogs in the SEC and some of these juco studs give the program a better chance at winning quicker. I don't expect UT to take over five jucos in this next signing class and hopefully they will be five good ones. |

JC players are good when you need starters and great when you need depth. We need both. All 3 of our starting DL are JCs. Our 2nd 3 DL are a former walkon, a blown up 4-3 DE and a 260 lb (maybe) DE who is about 40 lbs short of what you want. We have no speed at CB. We have some talented Fr CBs, but if we can get some JCs with speed, we will be so much better. We have to have a JC TE or we will be extremely limited in what we do next year. I believe we lose both Wrs to the NFL and Rogers to graduation. Would be great to get something approaching Patterson from JC along with the talented FR we already have. UGA got 2 JC NTs when they went 3-4 and both will be drafted in April. I would like to get to a spot where we take 1-2 great JCs and roll in the FR like like Bammer and UGA. We are not there yet. |

BJ I think part of it is the uncertainty in the program. It's easier to talk a guy with 2 years of eligibility to join your program than someone with 4 years when there's a possibility of a change. Also TN usually has immediate playing time available so that's an interest for recruits and it's also an interest to UT since freshman can't usually play on defensive line which is why it's the position we are going after the hardest in JC. If a guy was really good, regardless of position, he wouldn't have to worry about our situation because he would feel like if the coach was fired he could just go to the NFL. |

Coach Dooley is not going to be fired. He is bringing the program back. No offense to you Ghost, but I'm just about sick of this coach change talk. |
