How The UT-Florida Game Was Really Decided; Our Run Game Did Not Lose This Game

It may be a big play offense but slinging it down the field for 15-30 yards into double coverage will only get you down 21 points instead of 14. You have to throw some short passes into the mix, screens, shovel passes, etc to slow down the pass rush. The play calling by Coach Chaney was atrocious. And after we stopped them on the fake punt his play calling may have cost us the game.

Easier way to say it: you have to either take what the defense gives you, or force them into giving you what you want to take. Doesnt matter if you are a running team or a passing team, one way or another that's what you have to do.

Tennessee did a pretty good job of that through 2.5 quarters vs. Florida. They did not do it at all for 1.5 quarters....so we lost. That's more or less the long and the short of it.
