Yep...we don't need a running game

We can just fling it all over the ball-yard and nobody can stop us!!!

Last time I checked Florida had about 340 yards rushing and we had 84.....

We will NEVER win BIG with Chaney as our OC....It's Dooley's ass on the line and Chaney will take him down if Dooley doesn't wake up.

Quick 3 and outs will wear your defense down and you get your asses handed to you just like we just did..

Phil. How many yards came on big big plays?

It is not like Florida ground it out on us.

Go ahead Tux and make excuses....340 yards on the ground and you are talking about grounding it out??

What did I say earlier in the week what would happen if our passing game isn't clicking?

I thought our passing attack couldn't be stopped?

Don't worry, Bray and our passing game will look good against Akron!!

I thought we had speed on offense...where did Chaney use it? Florida sure did use theirs

you never answered my question.

You are very predictable. I knew that you would post this, once the Vols lost a game.

Actually, I wasn't displeased with our running game ... it was serviceable (which was better than 2011), and Neal consistently got 5+ yards. We just put a lot on the passing game and Bray couldn't keep up.

Burning Man, 2009 FOREVER

Again: it was 95 Florida game all over again. First half went great. Second half...call it wheels coming off, call it quicksand...just died.

We had a 17 play TD drive in the 2nd quarter, and followed that up with a 16 play TD drive in the 3rd to answer UF's FG. Then we get a big stop on a 4th down fake punt. Would have been hard to script out the game much better than that. All downhill from there.

I now have one big worry with Dooley. I like the guy and I'm not off the bandwagon yet or anything (like I said before, I expected a game like this ... didnt expect it to be this game but expected it to happen once or twice somewhere), but in just over two seasons the trademark of his teams is they have a very fragile psyche. They just do not handle adversity on the field well at ALL. For example: what really knocked these wheels off was the intentional grounding call after the 4th down stop. Then we missed a catch, then we gave up a long run...and it was over.

Also: Sunseri needs to get his shit together.

The biggest problem with the running game tonight was the back. Neal still continually misses holes...he is simply incapable of hitting the small creases that the good to great backs exploit. This was by far his best game at TB, IMO, and he did a (relatively) good job of hitting the hole. But he still just has a tendency to jump around and stutter step...so the hole is gone before he gets there.

For example: Florida' 80 yard run. Neal could run that play 10 times with the exact same results from the LOS (meaning: let him try 10 times on that play where the guard perfectly kicks out the end, and the FB perfectly seals the MLB)...but he will NEVER hit that hole. The window was very small, UF's back hit it and he was GONE. We dont have anyone on the roster that can make that play. We just dont.

Damn Tux whats your damn point? Big plays or 3-4 yards per damn carry. Hell where was our speed used on offense tonight? How come we didn't get the ball in the best offensive talent hands (CP) we've had in Knoxville in years? We were intent on giving the ball to Neal between the tackles....no speed sweeps, no mis-direction.

I've told you I don't give a rats ass how we run the ball..but you damn well better run it if you are going to win big in the SEC..

Tux....You have said our passing game couldn't be stopped and we didn't need the running game...You said we could use the short passes as our running game. Where was that tonight? Where was the short passing game to our backs tonight?

Keep whistling past the graveyard Tux...We will NEVER win BIG with Chaney as our OC...PERIOD!!!! I can't believe anyone would DEFEND the play calling tonight and our offensive scheme in general...It's just unreal and why our program has settled for middle of the pack SEC ball.

But hey.....We will look great against the Zips next week!!!

Big plays beat us tonight.

We had a couple of long sustained drives where we ran the ball effectively.

We all know that you are upset that the Vols do not run the wing t or wishbone.

Big plays on our defense hurt us more than our offense did. They were not really driven on in sustained drives.

Big plays? It wouldn't have mattered at all if during each one of those "big plays" if the runner just stopped and took a knee after getting a first down. They would have just lined up and ripped off 10 more yards or more if they wanted, they did basically whatever the hell they wanted to do in the second half because we could not stop them. They spanked our ass in the second half on both sides of the ball, period. They were the more physical team and they won going away.

Go back and watch the replay. On the Gators big run plays, they moved our safeties towards the wide side of the field with motion and pulled a Olineman and ran to the shorter side, effectively having a man advantage on that side of the field. That is coaching and executing. They executed and we did not.

So basically what you are saying is we just had a shitload of busts, fix that and all is good? I think it's deeper than that.

Step away from the ledge and put away the sharp objects. We are a vastly improved team and we will learn from thus. What beat us will make us stronger. We have several more games to play. Dud you expect us to go undefeated?
