45 voters leave Tenn off their ballots this week. Good read!

Vols will get in there soon enough if they earn it. I feel like they will earn it over the next two games. Right now I'm looking at an undeated, top 15 matchup between the Vols and Jawja on Sept. 29th. :coolaid:

I was looking at the individual votes of the ESPN Power Ratings, and I noticed that Tennessee was getting votes from the national figures and from the SEC writers, but not from the conference writers.

There were 20 who voted.
  • 9 of the 10 "national" writers and reporters included the Vols in their ranking, with only Ivan Maisel not including Tennessee
  • The SEC writers, Edward Aschoff and Chris Lowe, included the Vols in their rankings
  • Only 1 of the 8 conference/specialty writers (Big East, Pac12 (2), ACC, Big10 (2), Big12 and Notre Dame) included the Vols in their rankings.

So, this just tells me that writers that don't pay much attention to the bigger picture of college football just don't have Tennessee on their radar yet. When we beat Florida and Georgia, it will change.

Good stuff. It shows why there is so much controversy about college football rankings. And so much unfairness.
