These thoughts from the Volquest staff might give you some encouragement.

Jason Croom -- The 'jumbo' receiver was one of the most impressive freshmen on the roster in the first two weeks of camp, pushing to get into the rotation at receiver. He's been slowed in the last week by a hamstring issue, but with Da'Rick Rogers indefinitely suspended Croom will have a legit shot at earning a meaningful role.

Cordarrelle Patterson - Patterson has been slowed by a shoulder injury during camp but has largely lived up to the hype. With Rogers now indefinitely suspended his chance to be a huge factor on offense has arrived. Learning the offense is No. 1 priority and he's made noticeable strides in that are in the last week. Athletically, Patterson is the real deal, now he just has to find more consistency.

Drae Bowles -- Physically, Bowles is ready to play in the SEC. It's the little things that are holding him back like most freshman. Bowles showed that he was a fast learner after the second scrimmage when he caught 6 passes for over 90 yards. Bowles now has to be more consistent and get better at the little things. He's going to see time on special teams and will have chances to earn more playing time with the offense moving forward.

Pig Howard -- A foot injury has sidelined Howard since July but he's on pace to be back practicing in just a few weeks and possibly ready to contribute for the Florida game at the earliest. Howard looked like he would have a role in this offense early on, either at the Wildcat spot or in the slot, but now will have some catching up to do.

Cody Blanc --- The Knoxville Central product enrolled early at Tennessee, and never has that been a bigger factor in Blanc's career track than in recent days because of the news surrounding Da'Rick Rogers. In addition to good speed, the 6-3, 200-pound Blanc has a good solid frame and doesn't back down from contact. With Rogers suspended, as well as Pig Howard recovering from a foot injury and
