Da'Rick Rogers Suspended Indefinitely; Dooley Does Not Expect Rogers Back

By Dooleys comments it SEEMS it is way more than a piss-test failing. And if it is more than a failed piss-test this must have come on all of a sudden or why has Da'dumbass been practicing the past 3 weeks?

Whatever the reason is anyone really surprised by this? Be 100% honest!

Well there goes the Mercedes, the 250 grand worth of bling and the lake front property at Tellico! Thank goodness Cordarrelle Patterson decided to come to UT.
I must add that DaRick had me fooled. I thought he was going to stay straight this one last season of his collegiate career. He could probably go room with the Honey Badger at the John Lucas Center if he wished.

RT @tennesseebeat: Dooley said he doesn't expect Rogers will play for Vols this season
That sounds prettty final.

I am leaning towards the agent rumor. Good to find this now rather than after the season was underway or over.
Obviously what Andre Lott and Bill Baker told this numbskull didn't even go in one ear and out the other. It went around the back of his head and disappeared somewhere over the Tennessee River. I have full confidence that one of the freshman will step up and be a quality reserve at wideout. Maybe even two of them. Also, the Pig will be back in sometime next month.

Its not an agent.... lol... folks have no clue.
Rule out the agent theory/rumor.

it sounds like whatever it is, the entire UTAD has had enough of Da'Rick Rogers.

If it's not an agent, he'll be back by Florida

It sure sounds like Da'Rick is done. Hart handed out the suspension and Dooley says that he is likely done at UT this season. As we discussed yesterday, Da'Rick has no intentions of being at UT in 2013.

Da'Rick can train for the draft and go in the middle rounds or he can go to a I-AA program and be taken in the middle rounds.

Either way, there's a big difference between round 1 or round 2 money and middle rounds ... millions and millions of dollars of difference.

Round 1 ... 6-20 million and multi-year, guaranteed contracts
Rounds 2-3 ... 1-3 million
Somewhere around Round 4 and after ... league minimum of about $400,000 - $500,000 ... fewer years ... fewer guarantees

Shame ...

Edit: needed to correct some numbers

I am one happy camper, he should have been dismissed after the McKaffery incident. I abhor a quitter and he quit in the Kentucky game and he has always put himself first above the team. Good-bye sweet pea, I for one will not miss your childish antics.

I'll certainly miss his talent.

But all things considered, I'd rather lose him than Hunter. (though, obviously, I'd rather have both). Good job signing Patterson, Precious.

That would be the best place for him. I hope he gets his life together. Borrowing from Jeff Foxworthy, if you can't stay clean from Aug till the NFL draft after your final year in college, you might have a drug problem. He lost possible millions this week.

Cynical Idealist

Joe Schad on ESPN said that an "inside source" at UTAD told him D Rogers was suspended because of a violation of the schools substance abuse policy. He must have already failed two before this.
