Put up 76 points on Anderson County. No one is going to be able to stop the all time greatest QB in Tennessee High School history! Future Vol Josh Smith is quite a target! I'm still waiting to get individual stats. I think the game was combined into thursday and tonight due to weather last night.

I'm living for the day that they make the USA Today top 25. There are some negs on another board who will be bashed with the information.
I think Smith scored on three of his first few touches, two long punt returns and a TD reception.

Smith got things started with a 72-yard punt return for six points just 73 seconds into the game.

On CAK's next play from scrimmage, he grabbed a pass in the flat from quarterback Charlie High, dodged a Mavericks defender, and raced 80 yards for the touchdown.

Smith, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound senior, also scored on pass receptions of 6 and 74 yards, and hauled back another punt 55 yards for a touchdown. He caught eight passes for 237 yards.

I don;t care what level you are playing at. Those kind of numbers are impressive and tells anyone with an understanding of talent, that the kid is going to play at the next level.

Anderson County coach was quoted as saying Smith looked like an SEC player out there last night. What must be understood is that there are a few isolated negs who are going to bash white boys when they commit to UT. No matter how skilled the kid is, he is automatically not going to excel in the conference simply because he is white. I have also noted recently that in the national championship game last year, seven of the 10 starting interior linemen on offense for LSU and Bama were white boys. But when the big guard from CAK committed, he was also dissed by a few mis-guided, and frankly, ignorant negs.

I'm really interested to see some highlights from Smith's Sr. year ... from his Jr. year, I was thinking he is a possession receiver that runs good routes, but was unimpressed with his speed (he didn't ever seem to burn defenders).

I actually thought the kid's film looked pretty good. Sometimes players are alot faster than they look on film.

Mpost pf those high school teams were playing a zone, so you will not get separation from zones. You find allies and seams.

I think, at least at times, Milan tried to play press coverage against Smith in 3A championship game last year. It didn't work. This kid is a really special athlete that is going to have good grades and a fine work ethic after playing for the Bradley boys! :powerT:

taken from the A. Staples article "The Sabanization of College football"

1) While it does not list all the programs Saban has former coaches leading - it does call out Florida State and Florida - specifically mentioning the following recruiting methodology - the "true of his system" selection of recruits added to the way they are trained once they arrive on campus."

2) Grading criteria for recruits
a) character/attitude/intelligence
b) position specific critical factors
c) height/weight/speed

One would imagine Dooley would use the same basic outline - and this kid appears to hit on all of them.
