To compare Dooley to any coach is absurd. He just now has enough talent to compete against most SEC teams. He is still shy on talent, mainly on defense, to compete for a title. He's getting there, but still needs more time. He really needs to improve on his game day decisions, but he doesn't have to be perfect. |

While the team is beginning to take on a veteran feel, the new staff is beginning to mesh and working on getting better and more prepared themselves. Last night Dooley said that they the staff and team will be working on situational decision making and creating schemes deigned to get pressure on the QB. The coaches need the practice as much as the players to see what they need to work on improving. All the talk of replacing much of last years staff is BS. Dooley, Chaney and Hinshaw return on the offensive side, so there will be a lot of continuity on offense. On defense, there was a lot of change, but it also brings with it a new aggressive attitude. Recruiting-wise, Dooley is getting it done. There is no doubt that the program in moving in the right direction. It does not take rocket scientist to see this. This team will win a lot of games this season and we will win some games that many do not think we will win. I honestly believe that this team is capable of winning the SEC East and I believe that they will. I'm pumping sunshine today! Dooley is not going anywhere on top of a successful season. When he does leave, IMO, he will do so to take an athletics director position somewhere. |

Something else about Dooley's recruiting: all three of his classes are, IMO, highly underrated. When Athlon (or whoever it is) does their recruiting retrospective 5 or 6 years down the road, that 2010 class is going to be top 5. Pretty much the polar opposite of the highly ranked classes we had in the decade before Dooley got here. |
