http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/blog/eye-on-college-football/19807745/ Looks about right if you were picking in the East. I would choose A&M over Auburn in the west. |

South Carolina is overrated as hell this year, IMO. So is UGA. |

Jawja has nine starters back on a defense that could be one of the best in the country this year. Anytime that an SEC team has that kind of defense, they are potentially a championship contender. They have at least four or five guys on their defense that will play in the NFL. Aaron Murray is the key, when he's hot he is very good, but he wasn't so hot vs. Vols last year. |

Georgia's defense is NOT the best in the counrty. They just did not play anyone last year, their schedule was stupid easy. Boise St, SC and LSU lit them up last year....and pretty much every other offense they faced was garbage. Not that they are bad, but I'm not exactly scared of UGA. |

Georgia has a great defensive line. However, they are hurting for numbers in their secondary. South Carolina lost a lot of difference makers a year a go and we don;t know how Marcus Lattimore will fare in his return from reconstructive knee surgery. Mizzou has a great QB and some playmakers on offense, but their defense is very suspect. Vandy is Vandy and UK will struggle this season. Let the writers put us in the pre-season middle of the pack. It will only be sweeter at the end of the season and we finish on top. |

We really should be in the middle of the pack in the pre season. It's after the season's over when we will/should be above it. |

UGa has depth and talent across the Dline - they'll be good this year. Overlooking a couple things offensively. The Dawgs have one of the best QB's in the business - and some mighty fine running backs. Solid team wise in 2011 - one should expect the same in 2012. USC - Lattimore, by all indications, is making a nice recovery, I suspect Spurrier will go easy with him from the get go - I'd expect Spurrier to adapt quite easily with his play calling. The SEC should expect improved play from the Gamecocks QB in 2012. Defense, even with a new DC, is where USC separates themselves from the pack - its loaded with difference makers/game changers - the kid that backed-up the NFL drafted DE - in limited playing time - has the potential to be a full time all over the field game changer. |

I'm not so quick to overlook the loss of Ellis Johnson. That guy's one of the best in the business. Lots of talent on D @ USC sure, but that coach is not easily replaced. |

the replacement of a DC is key. I've made the point of the importance of a coaching staff - and the dynamics the staff, relative to on the field performance. Tennessee has a new DC too - while there are many around here that blast Wilcox as being a POS coordinator and easily replaced. - While Wilcox may have not been one of the best in the business - he was pretty good as a DC - even at Tennessee. That in a nuttshell is why I'm not so quick to say Tennessee is going to run the table in the SECE. |

Meh...I'm relatively certain UT's D is going to be pretty bad this year. The LB situation scares me to death. I'm expecting UT to win some games...but with basketball scores. 54-49 type games. If nothing else, they are going to be exciting to watch. |
