Obviously this hasn't been updated in awhile as Light Fingers Clear is still listed at TE and Dallas is still on offensive side. However, you might find it interesting that the defensive side is still laid out as a 4-3 front.

That is because our talent/size lines up on the 4/3 scheme better than the 3/4 does this season. We will play a lot of 3/4 scheme, but I believe the majority of snaps on D will be in a 4/3 scheme. We are not deep enough at LB to play the 3/4 all season long. We will run more 3/4 next year if recruiting goes as planned.

Sorry, but we disagree again. I believe in the defensive line, Tennessee is much better equipped to play a three man front with McCullers, Hood, Clark, Carson and Taylor working the nose and Sentimore, Couch, Walls, Taylor, Saulsberry at the ends. Staying with a straight 4-3 means that guys who haven't really excelled at end will still be at that position.
And really way too early to make a call on the linebackers with so many guys moving. The half full glass says that they could wind up with excellent production and depth from the linebacker positions this year. In the 34, I like the freedom it gives guys like Maggitt, Fowlkes, Bohannon and Jordan Williams to operate in space against just one blocker.

Even when we are in a 3-4, it's basically going to be a 5-2 w/ Maggit running free to make plays. Back to the future, similar to what we did back in the 80's with DeLong, Zeigler, etc. In many ways, in practice, the difference between what we do in a 4-3 and a 3-4 is going to be indistinguishable.

We are going to be neither, our defense is going to give multiple looks. That's what a base 3-4 does.
