Mustchomp has had a lot of trouble recruiting a QB this year, and they really, really need one. Well, today he got a commitment from the top QB in Tennesee. Max Staver (Brentwood, TN) selected Florida over Missy State, Louisville, and Memphis ... Duke also wanted him. I guess that is only fair. I mean, we got Florida's top QB from the 2012 season. |

I will take Peterman over Staver every day of the week. We came out on the better end of the stick in this trade. |

He better suck, because if not I'll puke after hearing the endless comparisons to Steve Spurrier. |

I've looked at his film and he looks to have a strong arm ... his throws were sometimes erratic, but I've heard that he's got accuracy. I'm not sure why he hasn't had more offers, or what his real talent level looks like, but he could blossom into something special ... honestly, I think Ferguson is better at this point, and just overall looks like a smoother QB. But, Staver might evolve into something that hurts us. I hope he succeeds, unless he is playing the Vols. Edit: Just looking around, the only thing I've read that seems to be a problem is that he doesn't seem to have a "head" for football ... perhaps decisions or something. That could be absolutely nothing, or it could turn into Simms-like hesitation. Edited by OrangeRev, Jun 18 2012, 11:36 PM.

Just as long as he doesn't go Danny Wuerffel - anyone remember that weak armed sumbitch? Interesting that D. Mullen thinks the kid fits his style of offense.. IMO what is unfolding in the recruiting wars now - the A-list players have made some moves - and the B-listers are now the headliners. With the recent verbal of the #1 DE to Clemson - guys like Prevot are the summer stars. |

Nah ... it isn't as if he spurned us. Had we offered as well and THEN he chose Florida, then that would be a different story. But, we didn't. (I was OK with Randall Cobb doing so well at KY). Regardless, can you name the players that Tennessee NEVER offered but that went on to stardom (and the Spurrier situation was completely different)? |

IIRC Spurrier had an offer from Tennessee - as a DB. Or that is what I heard from one of his class mates at SH in JC... |

Dont care if he spurned us or not: if he goes to Florida, I hope his head explodes. Figuratively, of course.... |
