With the new kick off location, kick returners won't likely matter as much. I would LOVE for us to get an Eddie Brown kind of punt returner, however....

Here is what had to say on VQ:

"I liked it a lot today actually," North said. "The tour was great and the stadium was real nice. The new facility is going to be next to none so it was just a great visit overall."

The Vols have pursued North very hard this spring. It was a chance for him to learn more about Rocky Top and he did just that.

"I didn't know a lot about Tennessee up to now," North said. "I really enjoyed the visit and I want to make it back up here soon. I learned the exposure at Tennessee is pretty good. I learned the football aspects. I went to the academic facility and they stress academic honors. I learned the coaches sell you here. They sold they are going to have two first rounders at wide receiver."

North didn't workout during the day long camp, but he did spend time with running backs coach Jay Graham, who is in charge of recruiting him for Tennessee. North has noticed that Graham's caring personality would be an asset if he chooses the Vols.
Some think that we stand a great shot of landing North on NSD and that we could lose Camion Patrick due to grade issues.

Apparently Patrick's grades are underwater (below C level). The high school coaches tell these kids with potential to play at the next level about keeping their grades up when they are freshmen, but some elect to ignore the warnings. It's almost impossible to turn around a bad high school academic career in one year. :banghead:

Maybe C Patterson will be "that guy" for the Vols this year. However, coaches rarely want a racehorse like that back there returning kicks where the possibility of injury is very high.

Very true Galla. Patterson was avoided like the plague last year. The opponents did kick to him 10 times, he returned three to the promised land and averaged almost 50 yards per run back. I would suggest that you might want to keep an eye on a stronger, tad faster Devrin Young and the Pig in August. The "Q" (Watson) might also be a candidate for kick return duty.
