CAK's underclassman?

Someone should do some research on CAK's underclassman. It'd be interesting to see what kind of prospects we could have in the future. Do most of you plan on following CAK now that it appears that could be our farm system? I think I will. I like the name of their QB. Charlie High. I heard a caller on the Doc, Jeff, and Heather show call him Charlie High Five. I guess that's his nickname. Too bad he's only 5'11 or maybe he could be high fiving on the hill in a few years...

I can't remember who it was, but I heard someone on the radio the other day say that high school football is on the rise in TN, and Georgia isn't a great deal behind California,Florida, and Texas. It was a guest not a caller.

While it is preferable to have a QB at 6-2 or taller, there are guys who are 5-10, 5-11 who have enjoyed enormous success. Do the names Aaron Murray and Drew Brees right a bell? UT has not offered High as yet and it is probably because they like a couple of other prospects better than him.
Here's a link to their roster. Anyone who thinks this is a little dinky private school needs to take a long look at not only the numbers of players, but the sizes of some of these kids.

I don't think it is Charlie High's height - which, in contrast with his surname, I believe was measured by Vol coaches last week at 5-11 - that is a concern, but also his talent. From the videos I've watched, he seems to make good decisions and have some accuracy, but his throws are weak and sometimes wobbly. I think his statistics look good because his primary target, WR Josh Smith, is an SEC caliber receiver.

I'm not even sure that he will be offered as a preferred walk-on.

Our interest from QBs this year is very weak ... I'm guessing it is some combination of our W-L records, our coaching instability, and those three very good QBs already on our roster. If we sign a QB this year, and I am not sure we will sign anyone this year, he will a true diamond in the rough that many will moan about. Stockstill, for example, has more upside than High.

I believe we need to sign a QB with every class, but it isn't wise to give a scholly to someone, when we have walk-ons that are just as good.

Can't dispute your opinion on his throwing. However, I was impressed with a few things when I watched the State title game vs. Milan. I liked his command of the field, his cool demeanor, his sixth sense on avoiding the rush and related to that, his quick feet in the pocket. He's not fast but really moves well. He did make a few throws when he was not squared up which may have contributed to the flutter aspect.
I also agree that the staff shouldn't sign a QB just for the sake of adding one in every class (See Nash Nance). Isn't the kid at Brentwood a senior with really good size and a stout arm?

I'm very aggrevated that the web site doesn't disclose the players year. I'd especially like to know who the freshman and sophmores are. I think we should start going to there games. Hell, might even get a chance to talk to Jarvis Reado or Jeff Hall. We can all just go onto their sideline and watch the game. I did it at Lakewood when I watched Jesse Scroggins. Me nor my friend had a sideline pass like everyone else did but we got away with it. So I think everyone on this webb site should all meet at CAK at least 3 games a year and watch the game from CAK's sideline. Then hopefully the game will be a blowout in the 4th qtr with the subs playing. That will give us a chance to go talk to Charlie High Five, Josh Smith, the OLineman that commited, Jarvis,Fred,Jeff, hell, even the Bradley's. What do you guys think about this idea?[/quote]
