College Football Playoff Closer To Becoming Reality

Mike Slive us proving to be the most pragmatic and influential conference leader in all of college sports.

Jim Delaney, Big 10 Commissioner, was ordained by the mid-western and eastern media, as the brains behind the playoff and was credited with having the best ideas for a playoff.

Well, Delaney is being shot down every step of the way and for the record, it was Mike Live who has championed for a playoff. Delaney was dragged kicking and screaming into the conversation.

Mike Slive is proving that he is the most powerful man in college athletics because he has a level head and uses common sense, not gimmicks like Delaney.

He's over the most powerful conference in college sports. He should carry the most weight.

All this fuss over a +1 after the bowls. They could have done this on the phone during lunch.

I bet this question comes up. Should a team that don't win their conference be elgible for the playoffs? I think they should. If Arkansas was in the East last year, and only had to play either Bama or LSU instead of both, or in a better case scenario, neither one of them, You could have 3 SEC teams. Or no?

Not in my world. No wild cards. If you don't win your conference, you can't win the National Championship ... but, obviously, the sportswriters and coaches disagree.

Yes, that final four, before the plus 1 game might (and should be if they earn it) be 3 SEC teams and a PAC 12 team or whatever. Whoever earns the spots should play whoever else did regardless of conference standing. imo
