I'm just worried that Rogers will go to Georgia State and want revenge from us for not letting him do what he wants.
He's not going to GA State ... that's just him blowing off some steam on twitter.
Rev,
You gotta take a look at this. Irresponsible and I wonder if the NCAA would want to take a look at this!

Wes Rucker is on 104.5 the zone, in Nashville, and is saying that the Vols coaching staff has been preparing since January to play without Da'Rick Rogers.

Preparation meaning signing so many WRs in this past class.
wow - NFL type WR to a buncha a true freshmen - another excuse for TuxAg down the road..

Dooltabby - Da'Rick, you were late to the team meeting ... your punishment is running steps.
Prima Rogers - The 'Rick don't run steps for nobody.
Dooltabby - Then you are not participating in workouts until you do.

They said this was over a 2 week suspension he was serving. This was over a meeting he was late for and his only punishment was going to be to run a few laps and he refused and got suspended. This has got to be frustrating for the teammates. I guess that's all he has to do is run these laps and he can come back on the team but he won't do it. CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS. With all the new receivers we got, I doubt he gets by with this much longer. He can really make us better. He's a great #2 receiver to Hunter I think. So he has a chance to make himself a #1 pick if he'll be cool.

Welcome Bearcreekvol.
I don't see him straightening up and flying right. The following have tried to get through his thick skull to, apparently, no avail: head coach Derek Dooley, assistant coach Darin Hinshaw, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney, Director of Vol for Life program Andre Lott, Condredge Holloway, the tutoring staff at the learning center, Tyler Bray, Justin Hunter and several other teammates.
But frankly, I don't understand why the big uproar, we have Cody Blanc working at wide receiver and looking good! :hide:

Yeah ... it wasn't a big deal to lose JJ either ... because ... you know ... we still have Rod Wilks ...

That's why we love Lonzo. We could get the death penalty and he could come up with a reason to believe everything was great.

Gateway, some just didn't get that one. It was tongue in cheek all the way! But as to Wilks, he is still running first team at free safety right now. He didn't play that position last year, he was a strong safety, so the the reference made as a snide remark above doesn't fit!

I took it as tongue-in-cheek.

And, my snide remark still stands. The only reason Wilks begins at first team this Spring is just to honor him as a 5th year Senior ... have you noticed that career scout team member Stephen Fowlkes was also listed at the beginning the Spring as a first team DE over Sentimore????

Wilks in his prior 4 years has never demonstrated much to warrant playing in the SEC. I think that there were no complaints with his work on Special Teams, but I don't think there is a miracle about to happen with Wilks. He'll likely be on the 2-deep, but the fact that he'll be on the 2-deep this year is more indicative of some depth problems we have at Safety than on any talent he has (3 of our 6 safeties are freshmen, assuming Waggner doesn't end up back there).

Oh, and @SteelVol ... find a new hero  .

Rod Wilks was the No. 2 prospect in Tennessee coming out of high school. He was bounced around on both sides of the ball by Chubby Checkerboard and Boy Kiffin. He has stayed the course, worked hard and never caused a minute's trouble at Tennessee. While others quit or transferred, he kept plugging, wide receiver, linebacker, wide receiver, safety, never complaining, never causing any disention on the team. I very much respect this young man for what he has done at UT and whether he is a major contributor on the defense this season or not is irrelevant at this point in time. If he had been assigned as a safety his very first year in Knoxville and stayed there, perhaps he would be a very competent player and a lock to start right now. And if Tennessee doesn't take the No. 2 rated player in the state, well, I can hear it now, have heard it before and will hear it again. At worst, he will probably again be one of, if not the, leading tackler on special teams and should provide some stable leadership to that group. One can look at him now, after the fact, and call him an under-achiever. I personally prefer to call him a Vol For Life.

All very true ... well, except I don't think he was the #2 player in Tennessee in 2008 (but, regardless, one of the top players in the state).
