It has nit been confirmed by anyone, but WBIR us saying that Martin has interest in the Illini job. That would be a stake in the heart. |

Would also be a stake in his wallet, 2.6 million he would owe UT if he left now. And why in the world would a man want to move to that screwed up state. State income tax, high as hell living expenses, etc. Dave Hart won't let this guy leave without a significant attempt to keep him. In an unrelated development, I am in mourning today as the goddess is out of the NCAA tournament. I hope the Lady Vols get revenge for me and beat Kansas like a rented mule. On a happy note, Candy lost to Duke and consequently, weren't able to chant "At least we're smarter than you!" |

I think Cuonzo did a decent job this year but the last two loses are concerning, particularly the lack of adjustments by the coaching staff. With Hart in charge I feel much more confident a good/great replacement would be hired should Cuonzo leave. I guess what I'm saying is if Cuonzo doesn't want to be here, let him hit the road because he is replaceable. |

Saw a note today about their buyouts on both the football coach and the basketball coach in a single calendar school year. Doubt they could afford to up CCM's salary and really, I don't see him being interested in any Whittle 10 job other than Purdue! Illinois is the California of the midwest, except with even more crooked politicians. Right now their entire athletic department is in a shambles. Maybe they get Chaka Kahn, err, Smart to be their next head corch. |

Shaka Smart and Brad Stevens have all said no to Illinois. Illinois is going to come hard at Cuonzo soon. I think that he will say no as well. |

They are going after John Groce from Ohio and Anthony Grant from Bama. |
