I am not liking what we are seeing so far. Ole Miss us focusing on shutting down our bigs. We are taking too many threes. Lots if turnovers on our part. We can nit scire. |

Most of the fouls that we have committed have been 15 feet or mire away from the basket. |

Actually, it's ugly basketball....and we excel at ugly basketball. There's no way we're sub 20% shooting in the second half. Martin is going to slow them down a bit on offense and make them pound the ball. We've got to get the ball inside the perimeter fo their zone. High post entry passes to low post will win this game for UT. It's nice to have a team that can shoot as badly as we did in the first half and come out tied. I think Kara Lawson is the best female color commentator I've heard, btw...... |

I am nit sold on Josh Richardson. He is nit a natural player and seems a step slow and lost at times. Yemi is not ready yet either. He lloks like a square oeg being forced into a round hole. |

Three of Maymons five fouls occured 20 feet from the basket. Not smart play.

Blown call may have cost us a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The play was six feet in front of him and unobstructed. |

that was a bad call. The bench points were pitiful.....we REALLY could have used Hall tonight as we lost the battle in the paint. eh...we were on borrowed time after Skyler hit that prayer at the bank. So...we make a good run in the NIT...this team needs to play games and hopefully there will be several more. Next year should be really fun. I'm looking forward to our team having a full year of Martinizing....he's a very good coach. The big question looking ahead is if our future recruits are going to look more like Stokes or Washpun....this will decide Martin's future...... |

Poor decisions all night. In a video I saw today before the game Cuonzo said they Had to go to the paint as teams do not shoot well from The outside in a neutral location yet we did not do what He said we would??? We did not Play well enough to win. Despite that we did not deserve to miss an opportunity At the end due to the gross incompetence of the ref. |

The Ole Miss big guys neutralized Maymon and Stokes, they were much more athletic and even when we got the ball inside we fumbled it or had it blocked or partially blocked. So we were left with throwing up three pointers all night long. And when we needed Golden to step up at crunch time he refused to drive to the basket or even take an outside shot from the five minute mark in regulation though overtime he took a total of two shots in that 10 minute span. I want him driving to the basket at crunch time not passing it to Tatum (4-13) or McRae (0-8). McRae was atrocious on both ends of the floor. I always expected this was an NIT team so I am not disappointed in how this season ended. We just need better players to compete and win consistently. And the worst thing to happen to Tatum was him making his first two shots and thus thinking he was Michael Jordan for the rest of the game. Stokes played like the youngster that he is and that game experience will serve him well next year. Oh, and the refs let the Ole Miss big guys throw their shoulder to clear out the defender all night long without a call and they thus scored consistently in the paint. Nasty game to watch and our interior defense SUCKED.............

+1--Great post! But playing the what if game just for the sake of it and not to be critical at all of CCM. What if Tennessee had played some zone in the second half. Henry would not have been able to bull with that shoulder, hell, one time he took his right arm and pushed off the defender and still got the call going his way on the late three point play. What if SwiperBoy had been given a chance in the second half. Could he have "gone off" like he did at Kentucky when he nailed five treys in the first half? Who knows, but one thing is for sure, McRae couldn't throw it in the ocean last night from a row boat in the middle of the Atlantic. Also missed free throws killed UT. Frankly, they didn't deserve to win the game, Ole Piss wanted it more and they got it. The call at the end was astonishing, as Tux said it was right in front of the ref's face and Henry's head even recoiled when the ball busted him in the chin. I had rather lose to, well, Austin Peay than Ole Piss in any sport. And frankly, those early losses, in the final analysis, have kept UT out of the tourney just as much as last night's game did. |
