Big Win for Martin

A Very Manly Man

He pushed the right buttons today. The man d was very strong - holding fl under 60, stopping dribble drives and good switches off of screens. Two new starters with Swiper and Richardson. Neither played huge roles....but the guys who sat played a lot better when they came in ...particularly Hall, who outplayed Young all game and had his best game of his career....by far.

We really played within ourselves and won the war in the paint. One thing to notice....Maymon is hurt. The last couple of games he's been limping around between plays. Whatever he did in Hawaii is still bothering him to some degree. This points to Maymon's heart as he scraps and fights for every inch....doing that with a bad wheel is very impressive.

It looks like Martin has acknowledged that we really don't have a point guard with the two other guards getting more involved in moving the ball. Washpun really struggled with the pressure D from Fl. He's an amazing athlete, but he's got a lot of work to do with his handle to succeed with the heat being applied.

It's still not going to be a great year, but a win against a) a top twenty team b) Florida....is good for the soul. I'm happy to report that Florida seemed to quit down the stretch....and we pulled away!!

I did not get a chance to see the game and saw that we upset the Gators. Huge win for Cuonzo and his team. We will not be a great team, but you can bet that Martin's men will not give up as the season progresses. Get Martin some talent we could end up with a very solid program again.

Quickly got knocked out of my projection of no wins in the SEC. Wouldn't qualify as a prophet anyway.
