We lost buy 10 - 77-67. Who would have thought that was possible. Frankly, I thought that we had a good opportunity to win the game. We took a lot of bad shots right before the half that came back to haunt us. Duke is it's usual big team inside and with great outside shooting. We lack an inside game. Maymon has to almost be forced to keep his game inside of the arc. He lacks the skills to put the ball on the floor and shoot the trey. McRae has to develop a conscience. Geez, he takes some of the worst shots known to mankind. Still we played hard and played good defense. Anyone else watch the game? Your thoughts. |

Looked like a very well coached team with an excellent half court game to go along with their up tempo style. I thought they got a little winded in the second half. This team will win some games that few expected including me. |

i got to watch the last ten minutes....considering that golden had major foul trouble and Hall needs ten fouls to survive any game and Washpun and the nigerian had to play major minutes and duke had higher quality players at every position....I thought it was a fine display of how successfully Martin will coach this team. Losing by ten shouldn't have anybody jumping up and down, but to stay in the game as they did....I was quite impressed. Duke was NOT effectively running an offense against us....they resorted to isolation matchups down the stretch to score - which clearly showed their superior talent. No crime there...if I'm Martin, I might consider a zone at this point as they were driving on as us...seemingly at will. But this is likely part of a bigger plan to get them to improve their team man concept....work on better switches and off ball help. I'm concerned about Memphis simply because a)memphis has better talent also b) we won't have had 24 hours to rest the legs. We can beat Memphis because a) we should get much better production out of Golden b) I'm not sure Pastner is all that great a coach....and Martin is better c) I hate Memphis |

Did not get to see any of the game but I can guarantee one thing. As someone who grew up a Terp fan, if the scoreboard said we lost by 10 , we actually likely lost by about 2 - 4 points, the rest being given to Puke by the refs. Ten years ago Maryland was up by 10 on Puke with a minute to go. Who do you think won? Puke in OT. Un-freakin-believable. |
