Report: Kiffin, Tennessee escape sanctions The Vols football program did not warrant any further sanctions according to the NCAA. The NCAA felt that the Vols self-imposed two year probation was satisfactory. Great news for the football program and recruiting. Bruce Pearl is going to get hit with a multiple year show-cause status, which will keep him out of collegiate coaching for some time. |

SB, you are so right about that. Our coaches have had to carry that weight on their backs during the recruiting process. Now they can look a recruit in the eye and tell them with absolute certainty that the Vols will not land on probation. |

I'm very happy with the results. I feel bad for Pearl, but face it, I'm in it for the success of UT sports. Pearl brought our basketball program from nowhere to an elite team but he cheated, got caught and now it's over. I'm just glad our football and basketball program is safe. As you all know the NCAA is on a warpath now and we are luck they didn't overdo the punishment to make an example. Many more programs are under wrath and now we can just sit back and see what they get and not have to worry about us. Let's just move on to football season and kick some ass!! |

WOW! David Reaves escaped unscathed by the NCAA. Everyone thought that he was going to get a show-cause suspension. |

I don't recall, but other than 2 years probation, what self imposed penalties did UT enact? Did we reduce scholarships, or limit off campus recruiting or on campus visits or anything like that? |

We limited off campus recruiting and limited the duration of some recruiting periods, if I am not mistaken. |
