There were people who questioned Derek Dooley parting ways with Chuck Smith and hiring the unproven Peter Sirmon onto the staff. Unbeknownst to most people is that Sirmon took care of most of the day to day coaching of the DBs last season.

As a recruiter, Sirmon has played a major role in recruiting some of the 4 linebackers that have already committed to the Vols including Santos and recent DB recruit Kenneth Crawley.

If you have never had the opportunity to listen to Pete talk, do so. He is a bright and personable guy who will one day be a super star head coach in the collegiate ranks.

I know there will be tough times ahead...but so much is going right for UT at this point....things feel much better right now after what seems like years for wandering around lost.......

Having a smart talented head coach is paying dividends already. Plus if you aren't afraid of having smart quality assistants that helps immeasureably.
