I never boo my own team but I boo the refs on every bad call that goes against UT in football, even boo good calls against the team if it wipes out a big play. It's often hard to even know if a call is good in football if you are in attendance.

Now in basketball my approach is different. I boo on every single call that goes against UT, good or bad. I often can barely keep from laughing when we knock a forward to the floor, the refs call a foul, and I'm booing at the top of my lungs. I think you can influence the refs more in basketball than football so that's why I have a much more aggresive boo plan for basketball over football. In basketball, I boo the refs as they come on the floor, when they leave the court for half time, and when they come back on floor for second half. The only time I don't do this, is if the refs are obviously calling the game 100% for TN and are really screwing over the visiting team.

A Very Manly Man

The only time I can think I ever booed at a sporting event:

I was at a UT Basketball game with some buddies...and we'd had a bit to drink. At halftime they introduced Archie Campbell to the crowd and for some reason I'll never fully understand all five us broke out into a spontaneus boo at the same time. All 13,000 other fans (this was at Stokely) turned to look at us as if we'd just booed Jesus....and that's all I remember.......

I never Boo, it's an emotion that fails me. I am either angry or happy during a game and neither of those are compatible with booing.
