I thought these were some very interesting comments from Charlie Baggett on the Dooley show this week.

“We’ve learned one thing from Nick Saban. He said “I can’t teach bad players to be good.” And that’s a heck of a statement.A lot of people don’t look at it that way, they say you should be able to turn a bad player into a good player but, you know, from a coaching standpoint you can only do so much so you gotta go out and get the best. I think one of the things we’re doing here that’s unique is we’re doing a heck of a job evaluating players and that’s the whole key. We learned that in the NFL. When you go out around the country and work players out and you pick them in the draft depending on how good they are, first, second, third round and you still make mistakes. So, in our situation, we have the opportunity to go watch these kids play and watch them on tape and then we have to evaluate whether they can fit into our program or not. And so, I think that’s one of the things that this staff does a very good job of so I’m excited about the recruiting class and I’m excited about the future here.”

Very well spoken guy and his guys play very well on Saturday (especially Moore and Jones). Very well spoken guy and I think a very good addition to the staff. Here is the link: http://utsports.tv/shows/dooley-show-charlie-baggett/
