It will be "Pro Day" at UT on Wednesday. Scouts from all over the NFL will bring their stop watches and clipboards to get a closer look at various Vols looking to make it in the NFL.

Today is the day that NFL scouts will learn if The Sporting News was right about Jon Crompton being the 2nd best QB in the draft. He'll get his chance to show his athletic stuff today.

Eric Berry will not run the 40 for the scouts, but he will take part in some other drills. Which drills, I'm not sure, but we will soon find out. He is a top 5 lock, unless a major trade or two is consummated before the draft.

Chris Scott has to put together a monster day if he is going to make any waves. He had two below average perforamances in the post season games and his Combine performance was nothing to write home about.

Hardesty Shines At Pro Day
Quote:

Holloway called the turnout of NFL scouts was “spectacular.” Those representatives from nearly every NFL team saw 15 former Vols display their wares in eight events. The players competing were Eric Berry, Jeff Cottam, Morgan Cox, Jonathan Crompton, Derrick Furlow, Quintin Hancock, Hardesty, McClendon, Rico McCoy, Richard, Dennis Rogan, Austin Rogers, Antonio Reynolds, Chris Scott and Williams.

Eric Berry sprained his toe in the first drill and pulled out of the rest of the drills.

Crompton reportedly made all of the throws that he was asked to make. NFL routes are deeper and the throws are more difficult to make. QBs have to be able to throw the 15-18 yard out, which is a long throw for college QBs. We'll see how he can read a defense. NFL offenses don't allow you to cut the field in half like Chaney and Kiffin did with him last season.
