Will LK have an easier time competing in the PAC-10 that the SEC?

From top to bottom is the list of coaches in the PAC-10 more impressive than the SEC?

Has the power of the PAC-10 moved north?

I believe that Kiffie pup will have a much easier go of things in the PAC TEN. On that same note, the PAC TEN has some good coaches, but nowhere near as good and deep as those in the SEC.

The reason I made the post in the first place was to get some perspective from others if they felt the environment had changed since LK and OE were there previousely? I mean they weren't facing the Rileys, Kelly's, Harbaugh's, Sakisian's, and others before. I think they are going to have a very difficult time winning the PAC-10, like they did under Carrol.

I'm being serious when I ask this question? Does anybody REALLY care? I mean about the PAC 10? Besides the hollywood dipshits who pimp it I mean? The PAC 10 is about 2 things cheerleaders and the spread. Uh oh. I think there's a baaaaad pun in that last sentence :D

Much, much easier time. The SEC is not as grueling of a conference as the SEC is (not to say it's a bad conference, just that the SEC is more competitive from the top down, better coaches from the top down, and better rosters from the top down). Plus, he's going to have a much better roster to work with at USC than he did at UT.

I expect LK will succeed at USC just as I suspect he would have at UT (given a long enough timeline), but with the same variable: NCAA probation. If the NCAA hammers USC in the next few weeks, Kiffie has a problem. Just as if he stayed at UT, he would have had a problem keeping the NCAA off his back.

Eh, if he wins a NC in the next two years who gives a shit about the probation? ^o) :P

Right. And everybody else who'd be calling that NC "tainted". Only people who live in Alabama seem to think cheating is worth it to win.

Hah, no. Now you are just being silly. If that were true, no team would ever break any rules... rather than the current status of basically every team breaking rules.

Now, am I about the only person honest enough to admit it? Maybe, but I doubt that too.

The PAC-10 isn't the pussified conference many believe it to be. Often times the also rans evoke the "conference" power as a tag along specifically within the SEC.

The advantage the SEC has is routinely it will have 4 teams that are damned good year in and out - the PAC-10 doesn't.. Teams like South Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and yes Tennessee wouldn't fare any better today, playing the PAC-10, than they do in the SEC. How good has the PAC-10 been during the Carroll era - the one game that stands out IMO, the asswhipping the Trojans put on Auburn when they had 3 1st round NFLers intheir backfield.. They were the "Nebraska" of the decade - at their best they just dominated excellent teams - as Nebraska did in the 90's..

Coaching - there are zero metrics that indicate Kiffin is nothing more than an ordinary coach, at best. In the PAC-10 - there are some proven guys who've reached the solid level - the turd at Cal, the Weasel at UCLA, the guys at OSU and Oregon and UW. Big Game Bob's brother has done a fair job rebuilding Arizona -thats about it. OSU, Oregon, Washington vs Cal, UCLA, & SoCal - can't say there is a power move one way or the other.

In the SEC - there are 3 of the best in the business - Saban, Richt, & Meyer. Less "with more" Miles wins and with luck does well - with Mullen & Chizik getting things done at their respective schools - tossing in with the Nuttjob and Petrino The power shift to the SECW is complete. The SECE - its Florida and UGa. The expecations for the rest of the schools are minimal - a couple moral victories win 7 or 8 - go to a bowl everyone is a happy camper..

Kiffin had he stayed at Tennessee coulda taken the Vols to the 9-10 win level.

I expect he'll do the same at USC..

No, but you're the only person I know that said you'd rather have kiffin and probation with a NC than Dooley. And you live in Alabama and I don't personally know anybody else that's made such an assinine statement. I don't think Dooley is gonna cure our ills by the way, but I ain't licking Kiffin's balls because he might have won a NC. He was DEFINITELY going to get us on probation. But his chances of getting us that NC within the confines of the SEC are much much less likely.

I'm the only person who's said it, at least that we know of...sure. I just doubt I'm the only person who thinks it.

no, you pretty much are. Every Tennesseean I know would not sell their soul to the devil for a NC. We all make fun of Alabama for it. I'd be pissed as hell and I bet 90% of people here don't want to stoop to Bama levels to get one either.
