Rams picking Bradford No. 1 The rumor is that the Rams will pass on the consensus top 2 pre-draft favorites - Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma defensive lineman Gerald McCoy. Personally, I believe it would be a mistake. Bradford injured his shoulder and shoulder injuries are hard to overcome. He is thin and frail and will play behind a poor offensive line in St. Louis. The Rams have one of the worst history of draft choices over the past 10 years. Thats why they are in the shape that they are in now. If this were to take place, Eric Berry could tumble down the board a few spots. |

He is also not a "pro style" QB - coming outta that spread-em and chuck it hurry up offense R. Walker offense.. As to the thin and frail comment - have you ever seen Sam Bradford? If he is thin and frail - how do you physically describe Tim Tebow? |

The big thing that would scare me about Bradford is the shoulder. That being said, I'd still take him over Clausen....for some reason I'm not all that sold on Clausen being an elite qb in the NFL. The Rams could use a qb and it could send Berry tumbling a bit as it pretty much locks in the top three and I'm not sure the Redskins are going to use pick #4 to get a db....as the thought is that they take the best qb still around.....which will cost EB some cash.......... |

Clausen is going to tank in the NFL. He has the physical skills of Drew Brees (meaning: short and has a weak arm), only without his amazing accuracy and brain. I have no idea on Bradford. He may be the next Manning or the next Leaf for all I know. |

Sam Bradford is a hell of a competitor - good arm and very accurate. he doesn't have to be another Manning or a Leaf - he is a legend, aka Okie and a Heisman winner.. Which really stands the test of time? |

here are the measurements - toots continues to show his lack of, h'mmmmm well, everything. 6'4" 236 pounds of thin and frail.. Wide receivers, quarterbacks and running backs are measuring this morning. Sam Bradford 6’4” 236. Dez Bryant 6’2” 225. Dezmon Briscoe 6’2” 207. Colt McCoy 6’1” 216. Jevan Snead 6’2” 236. Jordan Shipley 5’11”193. Tim Tebow 6′2 3/4″ 236. |

Went down twice to shoulder injury in 2009. NFL scouts said that they are concerned because he "laid down" on his team twice. Their words, not mine. |

You are comparing his 'standing the test of time' status to that of Manning...how, exactly? The Leaf analogy was bit off I guess... I mean, he HAS won a Heisman at least. So let me restate my original statement: He may be the next Manning or the next |

I'm thinking next Charlie Ward. Bradford would look good on the Knicks. |

Peyton Manning "test of time" at the college level - "couldn't beat Florida" - that is what he'll remain famous for. Bradford, and the fat guy from the U - they'll always belong to a rather exclusive group of college players - Manning, well "couldn't be Florida" is a rather exclusive group also.. |

Heh, man...are you reaching to argue for your boy Bradford. Now you are just being downright stupid. How 'bout this. Lets come back to this topic if we are both still alive 20 years from now, and discuss who has stood the test of time: Manning or Bradford. This 'test of time', as you should have noted from my post and every other post in the thread, is not limited to college experience. It is, in fact, specifically considering professional achievement. And like I said: Bradford may end up being another Manning or another Leaf/Toretta. I dont know; I'm not a pro scout and if a NFL team bet on Zippy's professional scouting recommendations they'd never win a game. Ever. But considering only a handful of guys have had success like Peyton in the pro's I'm betting on the latter (most likely) or somewhere in between rather than the HOF career Peyton has. |

hey zipster I'm not arguing for anything - fuck Sam Bradford and the NFL.. Bradford doesn't have to play a single down of pro ball - and he'll remain a legend.. The only valid comparisons available are their college careers. Peyton "can't be Florida" Manning Sam "Heisman winner" Bradford HOF careers - what is the guy with all the stats who QB'ed the Miami Dolphins? Manning for all his stats and HOF career will be history - and like many QB's who made their fame and fortune in the NFL will fade, rather quickly.. Hell ya think the greatest QB in the history of the Colts - Johnny U is gonna take a back seat to Manning? |

Uh, well...yes, obviously. Unitas is not the greatest QB in the history of the Colts. Manning is. BTW, your entire post is contradictory. First you say that his stats and HOF career will 'fade quickly', then bring up a QB from the 50's and 60's and ask if he is going to take a back seat to the current qb? Do HOF careers fade quickly, or do people remember them for comparisons later? |

This thread is about NFL value not about college heroes and their legacies within their school's fans base. This is about the big time. |
