That one play out of the wildcat screwed up the flow of a failed series on offense where we wasted great field position. What a lot of folks don't realize is that there is a flow to the play calling and momentum that is thrown out of whack when you do stuff like that. We've shown it and now teams will have to take valuable practice time away from other areas in order to work on defending it. |

No the problem is Nukese ALWAYS keeps it. Brown would have had big yardage if he had handed it off. |

Tux, like I said, it isn't effective if you run just one play, and we need to run it with a running back. Further more, if we are going to run it, we will need to commit to it, run at least 1 or two series exclusively. Otherwise, it's pretty much useless. |

IV, you are not telling me anything I don't know. It is not our offense and not one we are going to use much if at all. Fans fall in love with fads and things that other people are doing. We have success doing what we do and don't need to run other team's fads to be successful. We will not recruit the athletes we need at WR by running a wildcat sing wing offense. The play tonight threw that drive out of sync. Edited by TennesseeTuxedo, Oct 31 2009, 10:58 PM.

Oh bullcrap Tux. Almost everyone has some variation of a wildcat. Running it once or twice a game isn't gonna steer one recruit away from UT. Good grief. |

Hmm, so its not a "real" offense? I think that was the only way Bama moved the ball on us at all. |

Do you think if Bama had better QB play they would use it? The Bama wildcat was not very effective against UT. If the offense was that great, then all of the NFL teams would do it. Unless the guy can throw the ball, it is a gimmick. |

So, it doesn't work one time and suddenly it is garbage? Ingram from Alabama ran all over South Carolina in the wildcat. (over 200 yards) Nuke had a huge play against Auburn out of the wildcat. What was your commentary then? Silly post on your part. Edited by bluegrassvol, Oct 31 2009, 11:09 PM.

The Bama wildcat wasnt that effective against UT???? Compared to, uh, what, their "real" offense? Did you watch that game? Not a damn thing wrong with mixing up your plays and play calling to try and get defenses off balance. Our problem is we never give the ball to the RB or attempt a pass out of it. There was BIG yardage there for Brown if he had given it to him. |

Yep, and Bama killed South Carolina with it as well. Some people have selective memories. |

Single wing offense is for teams that struggle to run the ball out of their base sets. We don;t struggle to run the ball at all, so why screw with it anymore? |

I tend to agree that we won't run wildcat, but if we do run it some, I don't see it hurting our recruiting. |

That was one of the very few times it has been stuffed. Nukeese broke off a long one against somebody. Auburn maybe. Like I said, do more than one thing out of it. |
