The red-headed tuba player who never played football, relayed this tidbit of news today's KNS. Kiffin continues to learn about players
This speaks volumes on the where this program was left when Fulmer was fired from his watch. He had sloughed off of his recruiting and started signing guys that nobody else even recruited, because he did not want to compete with the other coaches for the recruits(Fulmer called it, "recruits lying to me). Lane Kiffin has been forced to utilized starters who may not be fresh, to play special teams. Special teams is normally a great place for a younger or inexperienced player to showcase his talent and get the coaches attention. However, reading between the lines, Kiffin makes it clear that the UT football program has several guys who do not belong in a top tier football program. This is a perfect example of an obstacle that Kiffin will have to overcome to fortify this program and get it back to being a championship contender. It will not be done in 2 years or even 3 years. |

Piss poor coaching - and a fella attempting to pass the buck. He has a top 10 recruiting class at his disposal - his very own players - coach'em up is all he has to do. Speaking with a kid who played "special teams" at his school for 4 years - desire to excel and quality coaching is what it's all about. On his teams All Americans played special teams as well as walk-ons. Note to the Kiffinator - you need 11 not 24 - how many kids do you have on your squad? |

Yeah, coach them up is all he has to do. He should be able to coach a stronger leg and better accuracy into Lincoln and Cunningham with little effort. Palardy must have been really coached up because his leg and accuracy are already good. Yep, take all of Fulmers rejects and coach the talent into them what a novel idea. |
