I can't believe I thought this, but after the GA game and now the Alabama game, I found myself thinking "Crompton is going to be playing on Sundays ... he is looking more and more like he's playing in the NFL".

Just another odd thought, I suppose ...

If he continues to play at this level, he will get his chance.

I'm telling you guys....he's going down in the Tennessee history as the guy who just wouldn't quit. No matter that he had ten different offensive coordinators ( you know how these stories get embellished).......no matter that several fans were sighting him through their rifle scopes...looking for any excuse to take a shot.......no matter if Daddy Crompton kicked Hammy's ass while Momma held him down....Crompy perservered and came out on top. What a great story! You know the Panthers sure do need a quarterback and a NC quarterback would be a big hit???? Good lord....I've consumed the koolaid........

It's not that far-fetched.

The only thing that separated Kurt Warner the supermarket stock boy from Kurt Warner the All-Pro NFL QB was determination, the right situation and an opportunity.

Crazy year for NFL QBs. Several are putting up passer ratings in the high 90s or triple digits. And a few teams can't complete a pass to save their lives.

I disagree, I think Crompton will get a shot at the league, but many GMs and scouts are going to be asking WHY did it take one and a half seasons for the light to come on for Crompton? Would we have the same problem with his pro career, or is the light on for good now? This will hurt how high he goes in the draft or FA, but he will get his shot if he continues to play well the rest of this season and does not revert back to worm burning.

I think he could be a late round "value" pick.

Unless something happens in the next 5weeks thats off the charts Crompton won't be drafted. Maybe he gets a FA tryout but thats bout it.You must understand everything Kiffin says about Crompton is to boost and encouage Crompton.Theres no way after 2 games of playing decent ball do NFL scouts suddenly shit their pants over Crompton and decide he's worth drafting!

Burning Man, 2009 FOREVER

I doubt he is drafted, either. But I think he may get a FA shot somewhere, in which case the kid may realistically have a chance to make a practice roster or something. He has physical talent, big, fairly mobile (in comparison to the Peyton Mannings and Drew Bledsoe's of the world, not in comparison to the Mike Vicks of the world...), and really does have a big league arm. Plus, he practices like an all star. All he will ever do at the next level is practice, so that means he may get his cup of coffee...

I cant stand the kid's goofy assed redneck parents, but I'd be unbelievably happy for him if that happens. After all the crap he's suffered in the last two years, that kid's going to have some good character built up. I have no doubt in my mind he will be successfull in SOMETHING before it's all said and done...

He's got a hell of an arm when it's pointed in the right direction. After the Auburn Game I would have suggested you get your head checked.......but now I'm not so sure.

I remember Pat Ryan in the late 70's, who played mostly behind Jimmy Streater, and when he did play wasn't too successful. I think it was him that fumbled at the goal line in a close loss to Auburn.

Pat wound up playing for the Jets for quite a while. In reality he had the best job in football....getting paid righteous bucks while he held a clipboard and signaled in plays........

So if Crompy keeps his head and keeps making plays and impresses some scouts during a combine or two.....who knows what could happen?????
