You think Fulmer would say stuff like this? From VQ: Tennessee's Lane Kiffin was asked on Monday about Meyer's comments and his team's plan to unseat the Gators following the Vols' light practice. "Well, I'd say this: This off season the commissioner made a big deal about a renewal of vows about what we're supposed to say about other teams and other coaches and other players. Obviously Urban feels he doesn't need to follow that," Kiffin said. "We won't say anything else." Would Kiffin ever accuse an opponent and its coaching staff of failing to play to win? "No, I would never say that," the Vols' first-year coach said. The Florida camp also in the wake of the game cited the Gators' battles with illness -- specifically the flu -- as a factor in Tennessee's ability to make both teams' SEC opener be decided in the waning minutes. Might the Vols have flu problems? "I don't know. I guess we'll wait and see and if we're not excited about our performance we'll tell you that everybody was sick," Kiffin said. |

Sportscenter just reported this tonight. When asked about flu concerns heading into next week's game with Ohio, Coach replied-
I guess that Urban Meyer will tell everyone his team has malaria when the Vols beat him. |

The Tennessean (Beth Rucker column) is taking shots at Kiffin. How convenient that the media totally disregards Meyer's comments and focuses solely on Kiffin. If Slive does anything, he will reprimand Meyer for his stupid comments. Anything less than that and Slive loses control. |

Damn! Mike Slive has called both coaches to stop the sniping. Slive would have issued this cease and desist order publicly if it had been just Kiffin, but since he had to discipline Urbie Whiner, the spanking behind the woodshed was done privately. |
