I saw exactly what I was expecting to see from the defense. It gave up 20something points to the UF offense. I just expected the UT offense and/or special teams to give UF another 2 touchdowns. They didn't. Hence my 38-6 pregame prediction. |

Kiffin put together the best game plan that many coaches say that they ever saw against Tebow and the talented Gators. What should have been a blowout loss, was not and the Vols were even in a position to win the game at the half, something few teams have been able to say over the past few season with Tebow at the helm. If you listen to the Tebow interview on the thread with the youtube video, Tebow even says that Tennessee had a great scheme and took away from the Gators, what they normally do to every other team. The Vols played as perfect of a game as they could with the horses that they had. They forced Florida to do what the Gators did not want to do and that is the sign of a great game plan and good execution. |

Sorry, but how anyone could have watched what MK did with Berry and the rest of the defense and not be impressed is beyond me. Hell, people (and by people I mean football people) across the country are still talking about what a gameplan we had and even Teebow himself praised the scheme. Chavis will give up at least 40 to them, just wait and see. But here comes our local commie lover and bumbletx to tell us all how average we were. Well, this average was how many points better than last years or the year before? Now there is a fucking stat for you to compare, the only one that really matters. |

The dickens, you say? Chavis gave up 23 to them last year. With Harvin. Punt return gave them the other score. And UF had only 243 yards total offense last year. UF had fewer yards in 2008. Fewer first downs in 2008. But that UT team "quit", right? Listen, I am impressed by how the team played Saturday. Got that? I don't want Flummo or the Frito Bandito within 100 miles of our players ever again. Got that? I'm honestly encouraged about the future of Tennessee football for the first time since Travis Stephens was romping all over Florida Field in 2001. Got that? But let's not pretend the 2008 defensive effort vs. the 2009 defensive effort was like comparing stone tablets to Wi-Fi communication. Edited by CCCP, Sep 21 2009, 08:48 PM.

UF called off the damn dogs last year. That game was an effin joke. The F bomb's nuclear option. Thank God for us we have CMK and CLK instead of those twats. Yes, I said Thank GOD. I believe in a higher power, while some just worship at that altar of the former regime.

That's funny. I argued for a decade about how UF called off the dogs in 1996 (after leading 35-0 20 minutes into the game). But no one would acknowledge it. Instead, it was a "great comeback that just fell short."
Any higher power concerned about who coaches a stupid football team is not any higher power worthy of my worship. Edited by CCCP, Sep 21 2009, 08:53 PM.

I didn't say He was concerned with it, nearly that I am grateful for it. It's not a difficult concept to grasp. ps I couldn't care less what you argued a decade ago, I didn't know you. Another thing for which I am eternally grateful. Edited by volchef, Sep 21 2009, 09:09 PM.

Point of order! I remember you saying that in 96 (and a gazillion times in different discussions thereafter, over the years). I remember agreeing with you then. Just sayin' Back to your previously scheduled quibbling... |
