I posted this on the scout board. I thought I'd paste it here in order to get some rational discussion amongst Tennessee fans, not Fulmer fans:

Mark my words. All this staff needs is some talent and it'll be here by 2011. No more will we have to worry about talent playing up to its potential. With this staff, the effort, intensity, development, and the never quit attitude will always be there.

We'll have a talented and experienced QB in Tyler Bray (and maybe another one, as I understand we're still after some committed QB's in the '10 class), backed up by Lamaison and probably 2 freshmen. We'll be loaded with Jr. RB's Bryce Brown and David Oku and So. RB Toney Williams. Tauren Poole too, if he sticks around. All these young OLinemen we'll be breaking in next year will be experienced by 2011. We'll have an excellent oline. The WRs will be loaded in the junior class with Teague, Richardson, and Rogers and in the Sophomore class with Milton, Ambles, and Cobbs (maybe Stills too). At FB, we'll have Cooper and Fugate and at TE we'll have Delvin Jones (who will be a WEAPON), Adderley, McClain, and Bartholomew. Bartholomew may be moved to FB by then.

On defense, we'll be STACKED on the line...Walls, Hughes, Willis, Broussard, Brown, A. Johnson, and Harris at DT. Wow. J. Smith, Miller, Copeland, Bohannon, Sykes, Irvin, and Fowlkes at DE. Loaded. The LBs will be very good...Askew, King, Mitchel-Thornton, Nelson, R. Williams, M. Taylor, and perhaps, Jeff Luc. DBs...also stacked and experienced....Myles, Jackson, Meline, and Wilks at Safety, Edwards, Gordon, Evans, and Oliver at Corner. Throw in a couple more DBs we'll sign this year for more depth (maybe 2 of Riggs, Bryant, Riley, and Wright).

Palardy will handle the kicking and Oku and Nuke on returns.

We won't have any weaknesses....especially with this staff coaching them up. And this doesn't even include the talent we'll bring in for the 2011 class and the 7-9 more we'll be bringing in the 2010 class. But this does include experienced talent only.

I was thinking about this very thing last night as I was nodding off for the night.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU will all be good, but their talent level is not going to get that much better. They are all at high levels right now with not much room to rise. The Vols on the other hand, will have had 3 classes of talent to come into the program. The talent gap will have narrowed and teaching and scheming begin to make a difference in battles with similar levels of talent.

If Kiffin can get a young QB some experience next season, even if it is just 4-5 games, our QB play will be much improved and at a level where the game has slowed down for Bray. We will have some young offensive linemen and play-making WRs to go with an experienced backfield. Kiffin will not have to take our offense into battle with both arms tied behind it's back. Our defense will be bigger, stronger, and faster than it is now.

If it is not 2011, it will definitely be 2012.

I agree Greg. We need a QB. Our defense will only get better next year and the year after, when we have great DTs and depth, great LBs, depth, and great coaching, which we have now. Our defense is formidable now, how good will we be in 2 years? Plus, offensively we won't have a freakin joke for a QB, and playmakers at WR, RB - man, we will be stacked.

Good days are ahead. Next year is not it, but with another good class and hopefully a couple of passable juco OL that perhaps next year is not going to be the disaster that this year may turn out to be. (incidentally, including UCLA which I attibute to psychological issues that I predicted beforehand), I am not unhappy with this year at all. I see vast improvement over the F bomb and that's all I asked.

I actually think we'll be better next year cheffie. One less year of Fulmer guys, freshmen playmakers at WR, and if Tyler Bray can come in and be at least serviceable, we will be good, cause the D will be exceptional. I know the OL will be young, but the OL looks better than last year, much better, and the talent will be better.

In two years we will begin to own the SEC on an annual basis. I don't think many actually understand what this staff is capable of. I guarantee Urbie, Saban and Helen know. Soon we will be turning down 4* players because we won't have room. The failmore puckered up years are behind us and "the future's so bright I gotta wear shades".
