One thing I noticed: The folks running the big jumbotron at BHG completely get it - the advertising is done like the board in Neyland, BUT...it's a small portion of it down each side. They used the middle for replays, etc. and a good chunk was devoted to stats. Our board is a technological marvel that still seems designed to make for beautiful advertisements. Will our folks ever "get it?" The board is allegedly for the fans. Fans, last time I checked, are at the game to watch the game, watch a good replay now and then and keep abreast of the stats. We are not - at least I'm not - there to say "damn...what a great ad for Pilot...honey, let's go fill up and buy some candy bars there after the game." Texas, Arkansas, Wisconsin...they "get it" too. All these stadiums Hamilton and Co. visited to study and see how they did it...apparently, they lost their notes when it came to actual "in game operation." |

Big boosters own the board at Neyland. I had rather have no board than a billboard. |
