Doug Matthews praised the Vols coaching schemes for yesterday's game. He said that Lane Kiffin went into this game severely undermanned from a talent perspective and his scheme gave the Vols a chance to win the game. He said that he was impressed with the Vols line play and running game. Matthews said that we were just not going to throw the ball effectively in this game and we should get used to it. This is what we should come to expect from our QB's in 2009.

Matthews also praised the Vols defensive staff and Monte Kiffin. He said it was one of the best schemes he had seen in some time.
