How UCLA Fans See The University of Tennessee Now The good part, if there really is a good part, other than our defensive effort, of the UCLA game, is that their fans are being treated with a good representation of a UT football weekend in pictures. |

This was outstanding. Objectively speaking, we have damn classy fans. I've been many places where fans from other programs have said as much to me. Not surprisingly, the same is not always said about the folks that come from the place they call Gainesville. |

Chris, I will give you a full report after the game, but so far...eh, I changed my mind...don't wanna jinx it. I have a deep sense of forboding. Hubby loved this article and loves vol fans in general. We are a classy breed in spite of what Atlantavol has to say about us having the worst fans in the conference. |

volchef, over the years, and I've said this on here before, I've been to games at 61 D-1 stadiums. In that time, I've met some truly wonderful fans from teams across the nation...and certainly, I've been fortunate to see some spectacular settings for college football. In fact, some of the nicest folks I've developed friendships with over the years: A group of Bama fans, from Tuscaloosa, who live in Pennsylvania. Same for many fans/friends I have at Notre Dame, Penn State, Nebraska and Ohio State. And in the SEC, it's more than just Bama. That said... I cannot think of a more vile place I've ever visited than the Retention Pond, also known as Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. They seem to think profanity, throwing crap at people and being disgusting hosts is the way it's supposed to be. And make no mistake - I've seen Vols fans turn around and give it right back to Gators fans when they're in Neyland. Not all Gators fans are that way...but they seem to have a higher percentage of jerks than any place I've ever been...and I thought that long before the rivalry actually became a rivalry with Spurrier's arrival. Finally v-chef -- I don't share the notion that UT fans are idiots - soft - fools...whatever some folks want to call us. We have a passionate fan base that's hungry. We've been waiting for a lot of years to watch a team on the field that we can say "damn...win or lose, I LOVE the way this team plays...love this coaching staff..." We're not there yet but for Heaven's sake - some folks need to give the The Lane Gang time. Two games and less than a year on the job. I like what Lane has done in getting us back on the national radar. Even if we get beat down today, the tide will turn. Of that, I have no doubt. GO VOLS! And enjoy yourself today! |

61 stadiums, damn that is a lot of travel. I have flown to several bowl games from Mexico but 61 places is the most I have ever heard. |

I've always thought LSU fans were worse than UF's. Been to both stadiums to see the Vols play, LSU fans at night are pretty stupid. Really kinda a 12 of one, dozen of the other kinda thing, though... |

Before I got into talk radio and being a columnist, I was in theatre...26 years. Working around the country and living so many places allowed me the opportunity to get to ton of games. Plus...I'm 51. A lot of places in a lot of years. :D |
