One will be 4 star safety Dietrich Riley from CA The other will be 4 star athlete Demarco Cobbs from Oklahoma (recruited as a WR). #1 WR Kyle Prater loved his visit but did not commit. IMO it will be USC-UT battle, with USC having a slight lead right now, but he will take an official on the UCLA game. Also - we could end up with a juco DT and a juco OL before the season starts as well. |

Riley, according to reports, is not getting the love from USC since they got the commitment from Dion Bailey. The Vols are recruiting him hard and heavy from what I am hearing-just as you reported. Cobbs would be a big get. Three good WRs in one class. My opinion on Prater is that it will come down to UT, Oklahoma, and Illinois. Never count out the home state school. USC has 18 WRs on the team and most of their starters this upcoming year are young underclassmen. Who are the JUCO guys? I'm guessing that the OL plays RT? |

Yeah I think we get Cobbs, who would be a great get. I don't think we'll get Prater. The Jucos I am thinking of are Curry and Hayes. Thanks to Flummo's horrible line recruiting, we have to rely on some jucos for 2010. I think we get a surprise guy out of FL (Bernard or Dunkley) I am optimistic on the OL Damien Robinson from MS. We'll land a big name RB in this class as well (1 of Dyer, Seastrunk, or Bernard). My inclination is Dyer. Edited by IndianVol, Aug 3 2009, 09:28 AM.

I hope we have the type of team that CAN. Honestly, I think we win, but they have a good D, and I don't see our O being that prolific. I think we win something like 20 - 13 |

Remember, Kiffin was at USC and likely the ill-will will be carried over. Kiffin knows that he will have some recruits in and will pull out all stops to make the program shine that day. |

Knoxville sports talk radio is the worst I have heard. Monotone delivery, one topic, and always giving a reach-around to their favorite fired coach. |

I'll by God guarantee this much, we will never again have to witness our Vols playing not to lose. No more dropping our heads in dread when the d stops someone for a 10 yard loss on 2nd down in anticipation of 3rd and chavis. No more queasy feelings in 3rd quarters when we have a 14 pt lead and stop doing what got us the lead in the first place trying to not screw up and hold on to that lead instead of playing football. And last but not least, no more watching future NFL stars sit the bench for half their time on campus because they don't fit into the political campaign of the head coach. Finally, after at least 7 years of watching film, magic dust, perfect storms and a head coach driving the bus over his players while loudly proclaiming the fans are idiots and he has equity, we have a coaching staff that won't make excuses for failure and will coach the hell out of this team. You can see it in their eyes, hear it in their comments and feel it in your bones. Tennessee football is back! |

Right now the UCLA game is the most important game of the Kiffin era. Lose that in Neyland Stadium and the Kiffin coaching tenure gets off to a horrible Fulmeresque start, win it and all things are possible. Rick Neuishel and Norm Chow are very clever coaches and will have a game plan designed to exploit our weaknesses to the fullest They know how to make adjustments during the game (something Fulmer and Chavis never learned). They beat a more talented Vol team last year by being smarter, heres hoping they will not find this team so unready and this staff so feeble. |
