This writer for the Jackson, Tennessee fishwrapper voted Tennessee the woirst team in the SEC east.
While he is entitled to his opinion, there is a point I have to call out: The 2010 recruiting class has no bearing on the 2009 season. It does not matter in 2009 whether UT has a class of 2010 QB committed. Now, he is correct in that Fulmer left the cupboard half empty. However, it is not like UT is converting to the spread with pro-style offense players. |

This guy failed to point out one huge difference between this year and last year. This staff is talented enough to recognize the player's comprehension of the new offense and will not continually try to force the square peg into the round hole. Also, this staff is working from the same page rather than trying to teach different things to different players at different times and the players have bought in to the system and the staff. This offense will be functional and capable of moving the football down the field. Yes the talent level is down, but I think it will be good enough to give us a chance at winning instead of finding ways to get us beat. |

Dude, I can remember seeing Clawson interviewed after the UCLA loss and he looked far more "deer in the headlights" than JC has ever looked. JC looks dejected as hell; Clawson looked just utterly clueless. There was all the talk about his genius and I still have no idea if he is or not, but one thing is for certain Fulmer threw everybody under the bus to save his sorry ass. The other point I think the author is missing here is that our defense is gonna be pretty good. Defense is criminally overlooked and will keep us a lot closer than the experts think in quite a few games this year. Edited by volchef, Jul 26 2009, 12:39 PM.

Clawson is a bright coach. His hands were tied and his knees were cut out from under him by Fulmer. |

I don't doubt you Tux, I felt for the guy. He had this look of WTF have I done to my family? It was sad...and again I'm placing the blame on Fulmer, sorry if I came off differently. |

Brandon Shields is a carpet bagger from who know's where. He is just about as clueless as any writer within the boundaries of this state. He is a joke at best and an ass at worst. |

While I don't agree with this writer's assessment, he is certainly entitled to his opinion. The truth is that nobody can say with any certainty what kind of a team UT will field this year. I am truly excited about this team's potential and abosolutely have a considerable amount of guarded optimism. The bottom line is IF this team can leave it all on the field then writers like these will start singing a different tune. The good news is that we don't have much longer to wait for those answers. |
