It would seem he would, considering he was a juco AA and had really great stats in terms of accuracy and yards...This is what Nick had to say about it , when asked. "Basically, not a lot of schools knew I was available because they thought I needed another year of school to finish my associate's degree because I finished early. My coach somehow had ties to some of the offensive staff here at Tennessee and that started the whole recruiting process. We started communication, and led to me coming here." he was a juco only one yr, and the staff really did their homework on him. |

I'll take a stab at this. While the quarterback position is the most important player on a football team, when it comes to looking for quick fixes or immediate help from the junior college ranks, quarterback is probably the least recruited position by major college programs. The reason, all the coaches like to bring in high school hot shots and mold those players to fit the particular offensive system at the school. Also, I believe it has been noted that many teams that might have been interested in NL believed that he would play another season at the juco level before moving on the a four year school. You would be hard pressed right now to name even two starting quarterbacks in D1 ranks who came to that team from the juco ranks. Certainly, NL could go either way at Tennessee, he could be a tremendous "find" or a career backup. But again, talent hunters are simply not beating the juco bushes looking for quarterbacks. |

My guesses: Either he isn't that good OR He would have gotten a LOT more attention once everybody knew he might be on the market and the hs quarterback thing settled down a bit |
