Malik Jackson Tearing It Up Ar Senior Bowl Practices

Posted by *TennesseeTuxedo (Admins) at Jan 25 2012, 06:56 PM. 3 comments

Malik Jackson was a last minute invitee to the Senior Bowl and he is already tearing it up in practices. The scouts spend their time watching the players up very close in practice. He is wearing his opponents out in one-on-one drills.

The game means nothing to the scouts, as they are out of town by game time.

It's funny, Kiffin and crew did not believe that Jackson would see any action while he was at UT. We moved him out of necessity and he blossomed.

SEC Recruiting Expenses

Posted by *TennesseeTuxedo (Admins) at Jan 23 2012, 05:19 PM. 0 comments

Conference Recruitment Expense Series: SEC

The Vols lead the SEC in recruiting expenditures. If you do not have the caliber of recruits in your own back yard, you have to spend money to go where they are and bring them back to tennessee.
Quote:

In a surprising twist, the school which spent the most on recruiting for its men’s teams in 2010-11 was not Alabama, Auburn or LSU, but rather, Tennessee. The Vols spent $1,878,771.00 on recruiting student-athletes for its men’s sports teams in 2010-11.

The SEC programs which spent at least $1 million on recruiting student-athletes for their men’s sports programs were: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. Interestingly, LSU, which participated in this year’s BCS National Championship Game was one SEC school whose men’s sports recruitment expenses did not top $1 million. LSU spent $574,182.00 on recruiting for its men’s sports teams in 2010-11.

The SEC Network Is Coming

Posted by *TennesseeTuxedo (Admins) at Jan 23 2012, 02:11 PM. 2 comments

The addition of Texas A&M and Missouri to the SEC is worth at least $114 and likely $228 million per year.

Jame's Franklins' boy toy, point out why the SEC Network is going to be much bigger than the current ESPN and CBS deal and that the SEC is going to be filthy rich when all is said and done.

This is also why Florida, Alabama or anyone else n the SEC is not going to screw things up with their own networks like Texas did.

We may lose Santos.

Mack Brown called him last night and offered him a Horns scholarship. He grew up a Texas fan. He has an OV there Friday with his family (also all Longhorn fans) and will probably commit on that visit. He has been committed to TN since this summer so it will be a tough one to lose, but we are loading up on DL and DBs, all high quality. I don't know if they will try to get in on another top LB this late in the game.

Will I Go To Hell For This?

Posted by *TennesseeTuxedo (Admins) at Jan 21 2012, 08:33 PM. 5 comments

Tracey Wolfson came on TV today and said that Joe Paterno is near death and the family has been called to his side.

No doubt that JoePa has been in deteriorating health and this crisis at PSU has only upped the stress on JoePa.

Does anyone else feel that the folks at PSU are using Joe Paterno as a pawn in this ongoing matter? I feel like they are using his health as a way to get people to blame the media and others for his health and likely death and hope to use it to soften the blow from the NCAA and legal authorities in the serial child-rape case and child rape cover-up investigation at Penn State. Joe Paterno is culpable in the blatant and wide cover-up of the rapes and enabled Sandusky.

Will I go to hell for thinking and posting this while Paterno is on his death bed?
