First off, if you Adidas Originals Sale are familiar with my taste in shoes, you¡¯ll immediately know that this one is right up my alley. It¡¯s a great looking shoe, and quite possibly the brightest shoe in my collection. This is one shoe that will stick out in any crowd ¨C it makes the bright yellow coloring of the Newton Distance Racer or Skechers Go Run look almost drab in comparison. The upper detailing is very nice, and the overlays are a shiny synthetic material that makes them really stand out from the surrounding mesh. As for the mesh, there is plenty of it, and the shoe is extremely well ventilated, particularly around the toebox. The Adios is adidas¡¯ distance racing flat. It¡¯s a shoe that can be found on the feet of many of the top elite adidas sponsored marathoners, and last year they released a version with a midsole composed of their recently introduced Boost material. I¡¯d heard a lot of positive praise for the shoe from friends, and despite the fact that it had a higher drop than I typically prefer in a speed shoe (10mm), I wound up loving the ride. In fact, along with the New Balance 1400v2 and Newton Energy, the Adios Boost was one of my top 3 road shoes from 2013. I¡¯ve run in a lot of good shoes lately, and have many more that I¡¯m testing for review later this summer/fall. In light of all of the reviews coming down the pipe, I though Adidas Originals Cheap t it might be best do a double review of the adidas Supernova Riot 6 and the adidas Adistar Raven 3. They are both models that I was unaware existed until recently. However, after seeing some of the models that are coming out this summer from adidas (Raven Boost, XT Boost, Response TR Boost; each will have a review forthcoming), I did some research into what adidas currently offered in their trail department ¨C adidas trail running shoes tend to be relatively unknown in the US (at least they were to me), and I came away surprised. I wish I had heard about adidas¡¯ trail lineup sooner! On to the shoes¡Specs Riot 6 on foot. Felt similar to adidas Glide 7 fit and design (although Glides are more seamless), but some added trail featuresRaven 3 on foot. Fit is much lower volume and I did remove the speed laces after them not holding my foot on steep downhills. Fit similar to Nike Kiger 2 in many ways with lower volume toebox and fit, but comfortable overall. All of this translates to a shoe that handles the more technical demands of trail and even mountain running because it is more flexible and deals with uneven terrain better than the adios 2 (which I also use on trails, both Boost and adiprene versions), but also runs like a road shoe when the trail smooths out. Not a lot of trail shoes can strike this balance very well! The ride is, by far, the biggest selling point of the shoe and is what sets it apart from many other lightweight trail shoes on the market. I opened this review with a quote from the soon-to-be-released book Running With the Kenyans by Anharanand Finn. I¡¯m only about 100 pages into the book (it¡¯s fantastic so far ¨C you can pre-order it from Amazon if you are interested), and he writes a bit about running form and footwear (Finn made a transition to barefoot-style form just prior to moving to Iten, Kenya for six months with his family). One of the things that surprised him is that despite stories of Kenyans running barefoot, most of the high level adult runners train in big, cushy footwear. Yet, he observes, they retain barefoot-style form (presumably learned through significant barefoot running in childhood). 11. Brooks Pure Grit 4, Summer 2015 ¨C I tried on the Pure Gri Adidas Originals UK t 3 when it came out last year and liked everything about it but the high volume upper fit¡it was so roomy that I couldn¡¯t even tie the shoe as tight as I needed in the midfoot. The midsole and outsole seemed like a great balance between light and substantial with a good level of firmness in a shoe with that amount of cushion. The Pure Grit 4 is unchanged in the midsole and outsole, but gets a brand new upper that looks really nice with a seamless desig Adidas ZX Flux Sale n and lower volume. Looking forward to trying it out. |
