As the college football season approaches, Nike continues giving the Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse Hommes France royal footwear treatment to some of the nation’s elite football programs. (Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan State, USC, UNC, Ohio State to name a few.) The latest addition? The University of Oklahoma. The Nike Free Trainer 5.0 Oklahoma Sooners?PE, like those abovementioned college?styles before it, comes colorfully correct in its school spirit, mixing deep red and white on the upper, perfectly aligning with the Sooners’ official palette. The school’s famous interlocking “OU” logo appears on each tongue and insole — half each on the insoles, actually, forming the full logo when they’re placed together — and “SOONERS” is emblazoned inside either?tongue. As far as PEs go, it doesn’t really get much better than college versions, and the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 Oklahoma Sooners edition once again bears that out. Nothing’s confirmed yet, but an August 12 launch has been hinted at, so stay tuned. The 3.0 is also a great choice as part of a shoe rotation if you want something to force you foot to do a bit more work on occasional workouts. My only real concern with this shoe is the price tag ¨C $140 is pretty steep, and the slightly cheaper 4.0 offers a similar ride and a more traditional Flyknit upper. If you can afford it though, the Free 3.0 Flyknit is worth a try! After two runs in the the shoe (and a few near ankle sprains), I took out the razor blade and grinding wheel and got to work (see comparison picture Nike Air Max 90 Premium Tape Hommes Pas Cher s below). After shaving all the excess outsole and thinning the width of the midsole, I can happily say the shoe runs much better. I put about 20 miles on the stock version and 30+ on the modified version and it almost feels like a different shoe on single track trail or uneven ground. Oh, and it dropped nearly 15 grams (0.5 oz) off the shoe which is not insignificant for a shoe in the 8 oz range. This is where Nike really shines in my opinion. Likely because of their size and the breadth of products that they design and offer, Nike has a ton of fabulous materials to deploy on their shoes. They really show this off in the Kiger upper. Typical winter running conditions in New Hampshire this year.In addition to the fit, another thing I love about the Wildhorse is the fact that I can feel the zoom air unit in the heel. I first noticed this while walking and standing in the shoe ¨C you can kind of bounce up and down on the air cushion. Unlike the Terra Kiger, however, there is no air unit in the forefoot. This gives the forefoot a firmer feel, particularly on harder surfaces. This is combo of a soft heel and firmer forefoot meets me preferences perfectly, though I¡¯d be lying if I said I¡¯m not tempted to try the Kiger out given my experience with the Wildhorse. Bo’s beloved Air Trainer SC goes for classic simplicity on its latest, dressing up in black and white for the kind of measured, understated colorway everyone needs in their rotation. But while the colors are subtle, the execution is anything but. Buttery nubuck covers the black upper for a premium feel, while the lace-straps add in a striped pattern that’s a bit more fashion-oriented than you’d expect from the classic cross-trainer. Finally, the shoe’s signature mudguard is finished in a diamond-pattern, delivering yet another pop of intricate detailing.Grab a pair now at select retailers nationwide, including New York’s Heist. Interestingly, I almost passed on trying the Free 4.0 Flyknit. Several weeks ago I purchased the new 2014 model of the Nike Free 5.0. I hated it. It had a tight band around the forefoot that dug into my skin, and quite honestly it felt and looked a bit cheaply made. I wasn¡¯t impressed and it went back to the store unworn. However, I¡¯d heard from some fellow shoe geeks that th www.nikeairpascherfr.com e 4.0 was going to be the big winner among the 2014 Free models, so I spent the $100+ to buy a pair (MSRP is $120). This might be one of the few times where I feel that the relatively high cost might be justifiable ¨C I like the shoe that much.So what is it that makes the Free 4.0 Flyknit so special? Well, pretty much the entire package. The shoe simply feels like an extension of my foot. It gives me everything I need, and almost nothing that I don¡¯t Nike Air Max France , and that is exactly what I want in a shoe. |
