Moddy Posts: 235 Group: Global Moderators Member #3 Joined: Jan 5, 2008	As most of you know, I am involved with (almost to the point of a full time job) the Board of Directors of the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society: acronym LAWS. Last spring we decided that it was time for a new Shelter building. We had 200 grand in the bank for such, but the cost for what we wanted was an astronomical projected 800 grand + !!!!! We decided to establish a fundraising committee, engage a suitable builder and go full steam ahead. With the wonderful response of the community, private donors and the generosity of one special anonymous donor and a builder who loves animals who agreed to build at cost+ we now have a brand spanking new facility which is a state of the art animal shelter! Total cost: $625,000 - PAID FOR! We are a non-profit, NO KILL shelter, depending entirely upon contributions from private individuals, as we receive NO GRANTS from any government - just to put it into perspective: our Vet bill on average is around $ 5000 a month! So here is a pix of the new shelter:

Ya haven't seen 75 around have ya? -- hope he's not visiting the shanker bosun -- Ya sort of miss some of the old gang like Maxi and that scotch jew Sol we had some fun in the good old days -- Don't know who runs this one but it sure needs a beef injection aye er eh? it's deader than a nun's nasty

Moddy Posts: 235 Group: Global Moderators Member #3 Joined: Jan 5, 2008	Sorry for the tardiness of a reply Sweets, but I've just returned from an 11 day fishing safari in the wilderness of northern ON [ Timmins area ] with three of my buddies and one of their sons [ not often that one has a personal chef travelling with them, we ate like kings ], we did ok despite the frequent thunderstorms and rain. As to your question re M. Robert aka '75, have not seen him post anywhere on the boards I just now had a quick glance at the Skeptik tank- same old-same old: the sheeshhead is still full of ignorance and inflated self-esteem, JVH is still trying to sell his idea of what is logic, Arthur still tilts at windmills like a modern day Don Quixote but it is entertaining to visit once in a while- hang in there Sweets- it seem that we old farts are the only sane ones around
