What are the differences between the versions? And is this better than XP or are there a lot of issues with it? Reason I am asking these two questions above, is because I was wondering should I get Vista or stick with XP, what are your opinions please? Thanks in advance, Warren |

Vista so far on my machine is almost identical to XP. I use the old classic theme. One or two things are moved around a little and few things renamed in control panel. Other than that it is the same. XP performs faster than Vista. I like them both. I don't see much of a difference. As far as security issues go with either one. I trust a free firewall program to block 99% of all contagions and its worked well for the past 3-5 years with no viruses. Occasionally it has a problem, but I just reinstall it and its fixed. There is also Windows 7 which is coming at end of 2009/2010. Its said to run faster than Vista as well. It is even faster than XP, and it sounds like its the complete package of what Vista should of been. Vista is a rushed version of Windows 7 pretty much. System specs for Windows 7 is the same as Vista pretty much as well. Either way I am happy with them. I might get Windows 7 next year though. |
