Police tickets prove a real sting

August 03, 2007 01:00am
Article from: Herald Sun

FANS have paid up to $1600 for a pair of seats in the front row for the Police's MCG show.

Ticketmaster's first online auction ended yesterday, with some front row tickets selling for $780.

In a test move, tickets for the first five rows - about 400 seats - went on sale via auction.

The face value of the tickets started at $500 each.

The Police play the MCG on January 26. Promoters have dismissed rumours the show will move to another venue.

Now the auction is over, online auction site eBay is filled with Police tickets.

One scalper is selling two tickets in the sixth row for a buy-it-now price of $1000.

The face value of each ticket was originally $250.
