Sass & bide duo ready to launch their lingerie range From Sydney Confidential July 13, 2007 08:18am Article from: The Daily Telegraph THEIR jeans have been embraced as the Sydney fashionista's uniform, now sass & bide's Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke have designs on what lies beneath. Overcoming the challenge of Middleton's battle with breast cancer, the talented duo are set to launch a new lingerie line next month, exposing their stylish designs to a wider market. The range, in association with popular bra brand Lovable, has proved a labour of love for the pair, who supported each other through Middleton, or Bide's, health scare. The 36-year-old was stunned after she was told she required a lumpectomy - 12 hours after the birth of her second daughter, Elke, in February. A course of chemotherapy followed her surgery, with Middleton skipping the brand's US show and recent promotional visit to rest and recuperate. A spokeswoman for sass & bide told Confidential yesterday that the design pairing had worked on the underwear range together, sharing the load as they have always done. "Heidi is back designing, but they worked on this together," the publicist said. Clarke has happily shouldered much of the responsibility for the business, jetting back from New York and Los Angeles last week, where she'd presented their latest offerings to an adoring US fashion press. "It has always been the other one's role to pick the other one up," Clarke told Harpers Bazaar's May issue. The Lovable collaboration is expected to sell through David Jones, where the label's fashion range is available exclusively, from August. |
